The scenery, mountains, drive, creeks and lakes never gets old up there. It’s the best, love it.
Next time you go thru Dunsmuir get off on the northernmost exit and check out Hedge creek falls. A 5 minute hike right off the freeway.

3. Hobbit battle of five armies (7.5) 2. Hobbit desolation of Smaug (8/10) 1. Hobbit an unexpired journey (8/10) The hobbit should have been 2 films period. The companies (e.g. Warner bros) wanted money to they made 3. Peter Jackson has no prep time so the hobbit as good as they were had no chance of living to its full potential. Five armies beginning (lake town, dol Gul dur) is awesome but they wasted time with Thorin moping around and Legolas going to gundabad. The battle overall was pretty meh. I liked it but it's compared to the others. Desolation of Smaug was my favorite but it added lots if unnecessary things (love story, Alfred) and was good but blinded by nostalgia and by a small bit unexpired journey is my favorite. It feels he most magical. What people don't understand is the beginning of unexpected journey sets up 14 new characters and shows us each of them. They needed to do that and it isn't slow at all. The first part of one of my favorite of the trilogy. The opening is amazing
