Gelish GoFile cord and battery replacement for my wife
For how much I love heavy equipment and quality tools, this thing is pretty cool. My wife uses this rotary drill for nail technician work. It is an aluminum case, operates up to 35,000 rpm, very quiet and overall all it is a quality tool that she has used for hundreds of hours.
The cord replacement was easy (Plug n play) and parts available online with an easy search.
The battery pack was a little more challenging. She stated the drill just wasn't lasting near what it used to and it was just time for the new pack. The batter pack was $60 and a wise investment considered this tools runs close to $299 before any other deals.

6.4 water pump, EGR cooler and more

I did not do any research before undertaking this project on my MX5400 Cab. I ran down to my local trailer sales/parts store and pickup up the connector (screw lugs on the back) and a mounting plate. While I was testing the connecter under the finder to determine what wires I needed to splice into, I noticed the small black connector plug hanging in the breeze was not connected to anything. Just for fun, I probed the pins. Well, How about that! It's a remote plug for trailer lights. In my case a 12' batwing cutter. (I installed the remote valve kit myself) This saved me from having to splice wires (a job I hate doing) I drilled two small holes in the sheet metal next to the wiper fluid container. It's solid as a rock. No wiggle at all. I dig the way you sealed the backside of that plug. That was a piss poor design (IMHO) having the pins exposed, especially with the harness running directly downward. That is just begging for corrosion. Thanks for sharing your work here. Cheers from Louisiana.

This isn’t a great tool, actually. It forces quick disconnects to work in a way they weren’t designed for. Using often this tool will result in damages to quick disconnect seals reducing their service life and could threaten the operator safety. The good practice is to replace quick disconnects not designed to get coupled under pressure with others equipped with an internal pressure relief system. Each major brands has such models into its product range, hence it’s easy to source that stuff.

Where you having a little bit of an oil leak around the valve cover because all those bolts were broken and if so, this fix the leak? Looks like you had a decent amount of oil running down beneath the cover. I'm in the middle of tearing mine apart to replace the radiator, oil pan, and power steering pump. I also have a feeling that my valve cover is leaking but cant fully pinpoint the leak.

    • @larrydoesschtuff

It was definitely a source of weeping oil... more toward the rear of the cover. The right side valve cover will come off soon for a rocker arm. I would suggest just going ahead and doing anything else possible under the cover while in there... especially on the left side! So much to go through on the left.

I do wish i had a cab many times, especially when its raining, super cold out. For the brush mower add on, i think the screen build would be needed either way.

I debated doing the same. Nice job. Got me a pendulum spreader instead that can hold 1000lbs. Pricey around $4k but can use it for seed and fertilizer as well.

I found it strange that there wasn't an adapter already and couldn't find any videos doing this. I lloked at pendulums, cone style, and so many... I really loved the Sides Spreader brand, but out of price range for my goals. I bought a soil conditioner from Quick attach a while ago, and I can see this spreader being used for seed to, but I'll experiment with the flow shield in the hopper to make that work right.

No problems with the gearbox for me. Keeping the angle from exposing the underneath toward the cab really limits projectiles but i would say yes, definitely build a protector screen. I have some #9 expanded metal that i plan on building something with for it but havent had the time yet.

Finally getting my L6060. You like 7 or 8ft scraper? I think it was Outdoor with the Morgan’s that swapped his 8ft for a 7ft as it was almost too big to crown a regular 12” driveway. Comments? I need to order mine in the next couple of weeks. I do commercial driveways but with a 5ft at the moment. Thanks

Did you get hydraulic controls for the back? I dont see why you couldnt crown properly with an 8'. My boxscaper is 84" and 6" added on each side shouldnt hurt a thing.

i am jealous of the tilt bucket man. for some reason i thought it would be smarter for me to get a regular grading bucket then a tilt bucket for my u25, but at least i had the sense to get the thumb. so i got a question for you, how do you go about advertising? i have been doing mailbox flyers and signs and have only had one call in six month and even that only lead to an quote (sill hoping he calls me back) basically i am trying to turn my hobby into a business in the hopes that one day i can quit my day job. so far though its not looking very promising. if you have any advise i am all ears. thanks!

    • @larrydoesschtuff
      @larrydoesschtuff Год назад

I describe the tilt bucket like this: With a regular just grading bucket, it's like an artist painting without a wrist. With a tilt bucket, it's like you finally have a wrist. As far as the advertising/business aspect.... I have some ideas on some videos to make on the subject. Keep in mind that I have a particular niche or size box of business I operate in now and intend to in the future. I do not have a goal of a fleet of machines and multitudes of employees. That part is a huge decision that will relate to marketing and what you spend on advertising... however, word of mouth of quality work, reasonable price, shows up on time, and so much more will be free advertising and quite possibly all you will ever have to do. A Facebook page is free. I build websites and do graphic work as well, so my website cost per year is very minimal. In fact, i use the website mostly for storage, behind the wall transactions, etc. I have business cards, but I use my high-quality jpg image of it to text most customers instead of handing them a card. If that customer refers your company to another person, they can just text them your image card. Last thought for a lengthy response (but i have 100 other ideas)... is, I warned myself against spending advertising money that brings in far more work than I can handle, so in the end, I wasted some of that money. Looking back... I can hardly think of a job that came from any kind of paper or electronic advertising. All working your circle, word of mouth, referrals from other customers, and I have more than I can handle right now.

i usually start by using a 3 way rear blade to rehab the ditch line and then on the way back ill let the tires on the right side sit in the ditch and set the blade back to level and adjust it so that it takes all that material and rolls it to the milddle to give me a crown. then i just run everything over a bunch to pack it down again. works in my area well at least

The multi camera views are cool. You're getting pretty fancy! How does the MX do on steep hills bush hogging? You know what steep hills in WNC mean... My little B2601 is a weakling on anything approaching steep. Lifting a rear tire or sliding sideways makes you want to jump off the tractor.

Ill add some more cams at some point to vary the view even more... hopefully to help make some multitasking easier to learn like on a tractor... every control, every action. I have 0 lack of power need with this 60 horse. But everything is also as Kubota would say, "power matched". I am a conservative operator for the most part, safetey first... ill yrust my gut early and skip a section and save it for the excavator mower.
