What a moving song. I am 82 and hearing this again brings back so many memories of those mowtown years. I was on a visit to the north of England when I saw advetised in the town that there was to be a Motown Night that Saturday in a local venue. I tried to get a ticked but it was sold out, and this was in the 1990"s.

My dad had to work at eight years old when his father left home and never came back supported his mother little brother and little sister at 17 his mom died so he had to raise his brother and sister he worked in a farm in the valley here in Texas he moved up a little north worked for rich people in a big department store save money opened up a restaurant never took a penny from the government went to work at the naval base and opened up a grocery store finally, his dream come true a TV repair man he was his own boss, his own place where he paid rent with a third grade education this song reminds me of him all the time no matter what race you were if you had a true father, this song will hit where hurts it I love it

I remeber this song when I was a young teenager. My buddies and I had a treefort and we'd sleep out in it at night. This song was on our transister radio we had.

This takes me back to my senior year in high school and went on my class trip. I sung it to my boyfriend whien we were on the bus. Everyone on the bus heard me sing it to him. I was so in love with him and still love him. I called him, sent this song to him. He still loves me too. One day we are going to get together again. I was 19 when i last saw him, now we are both 75. Really look ng forward to seeing him again. Love me some old school. Thank you DJoBoogie.
