Disconnecting a repeater from a Wire-X room with a Yeasu FTM-100DR
In this video I demonstrate how to disconnect a System Fusion repeater from a Wires-X room using my Yaesu FTM-100DR mobile radio.
Note, at the end of the video the repeater reconnects to WW6BAY-ROOM because this is the default state of the repeater as configured by the administrator. If this repeater had been connected to another room it would have switched to WW6BAY-ROOM after I issued the disconnect command.

In this video I demonstrate how to activate Wires-X mode on a Yaesu FTM-100DR and then connect the repeater to a different Wires-X room by searching for it by name. Note: I have the receive audio turned all the way down which means that even though there is traffic you don't hear anything other than the indicator beeps from the radio.

The Sagano Scenic Railway takes a winding path through the mountains between Arashiyama and Kameoka. It used to be part of the JR Sanin Line but has been replaced by a faster route and is now maintained only as a tourist attraction. After reaching Kameoka we return by boat along the winding Katsura river.

While waiting for my train to arrive I shot this video of an E2 Series Shinkansen passing through Shiroishizao Station (白石蔵王駅). This is one of the Yamabiku from Tokyo to Sendai or Morioka.

The Eisbach ("ice brook" in German) may be cold but that doesn't stop these Munich surfers from taking advantage of the standing wave to enjoy the surf in this landlocked city. I encountered this impressive sight completely by accident while wandering the city. What a pleasant surprise.

After an initial scrabble these two just gekkered at each other for the next 10 minutes. This video was taken at the Zao Fox Village near Shiroishi, Japan. I highly recommend you visit if you can.
Newbie question I assume you dont need a wires x box of tricks just connect to repeater that has it or am I missing something and will need to buy another bit of kit? tia. M7SEY 73's
You only need a radio which supports it to change the repeater configuration. If your radio supports System Fusion but not Wires-X you can still use the connected room. If your radio is only analog then you can only use the analog features of the repeater and not linked rooms.
What does the small capital R in parentheses above the smaller capital X mean? I've seen both connections that show the (R) with the smaller X, and others that show only a larger X when connected, but no (R). I don't see this (R) indicator explained in any of the FTM-100DR's several types of User Manuals. I posed this and several other questions regarding the FTM-100DR to Yaesu, but they never answered this one. Tnx, Tony (W9MT)
I've always assumed it meant something like "repeater", maybe that it had successfully completed a handshake?
@@reillyeon (R) for connecting to a node that also has an active OTA repeater connected to it would make sense. I don't always see that (R) when I connect to all nodes with an mmdvm or over PDN mode into "true" WiresX territory. So maybe there is only the "Internet side" when the X is taller without the (R) over it. Perhaps a live repeater hanging off of that node will make the (R) appear. I just wish Yaesu would include all of its indicators when they describe what one can see off of a radio's LCD. Undefined, mystery indicators should never appear. Thanks, Reilly.
