I think it was back in 2006 when I first heard Beverly. It was on Wogan's morning show on Radio 2. Wow, he said, she kicked the Bejazzas out of that one.

I like Beverley but this cover is the reason why sometimes less is more. The most iconic and funky part of Southern Freeez is that slappin’ bassline, but this cover discards it for a bunch of brass instruments to the point where the bass is inaudible.
