how tight should I tighten them? I broke one (costs approx 5 GBP in my country) by using pliers. Prior to that it kept leaking and no amount of bare hand tightening worked to solve out the leaks.. Any tips on how to properly grip them?

This is a joke. Within about 10 seconds there are kinks in the hose. You can even see in the video before it cuts away at 0:39 that they’ve realised this and intentionally cut it out. An absolute pisstake

Tim, once you set the timers, please confirm that you then turn the tap on so that the sprinklers work at the time set? I've done this but bizarrely, the sprinkers come on NOW rather than later when I expect it to come on. What on earth am I doing wrong? What a joke! Look carefully at the vaguely boomerang shaped brackets in frames 0.11 to 0.26 and then in frame 2.38 and spot the difference. 2.38 is the right way round! Also anyone would be well advised to wear thick work gloves as there are a few too many sharp metal edges.

What is the power source? If it's mechanical, how often do we need to wind it up?
