I spent a solo day in Manly & took the ferry across to Circular Quay! I haven't spent a day to myself in a longgggggg time, so it was actually so nice to get out and enjoy my hometown. Many tourists go to Bondi, because that's what they've heard of. They'd do much better to go to Manly. To start with, they'd travel on a ferry, rather than a train/bus. That's probably a new experience for them. Plenty of different views into the various bays that they'd not otherwise get. Then the beach itself is better, at least for our money. Good surfing, along with plenty of sheltered water for those who can't surf.

Thank-you for telling of your visit to Manly. I spent the first year of life living in Manly while my parents new house was being built in North Manly. I spent many visits to my Great Grand Mother in Manly and later on I went to school in Manly Vale and later Brookvale. We spent a lot of time in Summer in Manly and the many great beaches on the Northern beaches from Manly to Palm Beach. I even spent two periods as a Bus Conductor while on holidays from University studies. Great fun travelling on full busses from Palm Beach to Wynyard . Mike from Oz
