Output Speed Sensor on 5r110 issues
Просмотров 8 тыс.3 года назад
Just made this quick video to anyone maybe experiencing the same Issue with their Superduties 5r110 transmission. Hopefully this helps! Any requests for more repair videos on 6.0 power strokes drop in the comments. Thanks
Same thing happend to me. I swapped a used trans in and got input and output codes. Input went away when I swapped sensors but I just put a new output in and it’s still doing it but seems like it wants to act normal but it’s not quite there. The code is still there for the output sensor could it be wiring or the connector clip?
Check for resistance to determine if it’s the sensor or an electrical problem
This seems to be a common issue around 160k. Regardless of how well you maintain the transmission.
Is it possible to get it out without dropping the transmission??
Yes aslong as it’s not stuck in that you break it, you can reach around the top
Wtf? U didnt shiw shit
you need to clear out the transmissions computer , it has to be done by computer , simply unplugging it dose not reset the programs in it ,
How did u get the broke 1 out
Thank you man
I wonder how long search light last on a 6amp battery. I just want it for fishing
Yep just rebuilt a tranny and you described exactly what mines doing. Thankyou
Mines just started doing this. I’m gonna try this out asap- I’ll keep y’all posted
Just had this issue the last two days and noticed that I was 2qts low on fluid... any chance that this what may have caused this?
Might cause slipping and damage over time but if it’s reoccurring likely the sensor.
Mine won’t transfer power at all but I have that code. Idk if it’s in some sort of caught in some sort of limp mode
Thanks
I did this same thing I've experienced exactly the same things you were just describing and word for word I did exactly what you did and still not fixing the issue in fact it's making it worse. I have three other trainees in the yard broke two of the speed sensors pulling them out inside the tranny managed to save one good sensor put it in there works great for about an hour and then out of nowhere very hard shifts in the lip mode with flashing tow haul. And I mean hard I could be going 70 80 down the interstate and then boom tow haul 3rd gearish. Then flashes. So codes popped up output sensor so I purchase a new one, install that. I quickly cutting a hole in the top of floor board quickly to install then sheet metal and pop rivet. Did you have too kam reset anything?
I didn’t have to reset anything, I would maybe check your wiring from the 3 wire connector down see if there is any cracks or breaks in the wire harness.
How where you able to get the oder one out i have the same problem and i cant get the old one out
Took a pair of channel locks and wiggled back and forth tell I could turn it a little, then took small pry bar and got under it and popped it out👍🏻
Carefully grab a hold of it and pull straight up no twisting it will break and then if it breaks take a small drill drill a hole in it screw a sheetrock screw and then pull up on the sheetrock screw.
Yeah thats what hapend it broke so i put in a self tap screw and thats how i was able to take it out
Yes video of the change out with the tools shown and delineated is much preferable. And a clearer view of the entire sensor without your hand blocking part of it in dimmish light. What was the part number and where did you get it? Still, a good video with the trani out in plane view.
What was the bolt size to take it out
8mm
5/16 on mine torx on others. Use a mirror. Also look at what’s holding the shift cable sensor on same fastener. It’s easy to get to in a 2wd. Follow wire to top of transmission use a mirror. Losen fastener wiggle while pulling on it. If it’s a 4wd that’s a whole different matter.
Thanks helped me ! My 03 did the same !
Hello, when this happe. To you did your transmission temperature gauges stop working? Having the same issues l, already change the temp sensor
Yes they did
My transmission gauge stays right in the middle and works correctly I even use my scan tool to check the temperature as well
Hey Mike, did swapping out the output speed sensor fix your temperature gauge issue and shifting issues. I’m also having both issues with my 5r110 tranny on my 05 250?
No it didn't I when up buy a new harness that connects to the computer in the front and a new computer that fixed my problem truck being running hard for couple months now
When will a new video be released?
How much did you pay for the sensor
50$
Where did you purchase it at?
Local Snap On truck, I think you can also get them on Snap ons website as well!
