Megatron won, he destroyed with his own hands those who defended empurata, slavery and other things. This war has gone so far that it has lost all reason to continue it and by ending it Megatron won.

At first Megatron wanted to be rid of the corrupt government, even optimus was on board with that. One of Megatron's problem was he never considered a way to make peace with them, he labelled them an enemy and relentless ploted to kill them. He didn't offer a his enemies a path towards peace, he just wanted them gone. Optimus welcomed back the deceptions to cybertron, making peace with his enemies, Megatron didn't lay the ground work for a peaceful ceasefire so the fighting just kept going. His biggest problem was that he only trusted his own judgement. He wanted all the power for himself so no one would make any of the mistakes that lead them to this point. That means he made even more enemies with anyone that opposed his views like the organics that he turned his weapons on. If megatron had been willing to resolve things with his many enemies he might have gotten what he wanted without needing to engage with every living thing that wasn't a deception. Trust and comprise, two things he lacked that prime has in spades.

The change Rodimus and his crew wrought in Megatron was beautiful and moving, even if, in the end, it was too little too late. In the end, he couldn't open his Matrix, and no amount of goodwill could've saved him from the Galactic Council's sentence. To realize you were wrong so late into the game, trying so hard to change, and succeeding, while still knowing in the back of your mind that it would never be enough? It's... it's so goddamn *sad.* I wish he had a happier ending, even if, really, he didn't deserve one, not one bit. It's a testament to Roberts' writing that he managed to make me feel that way.

@waaaaaaah great writing, but truly resolving his mistakes (trillions dead) was not going to be possible nor should it be. It's a beautifully tragic story of him dealing with his sin and learning to live with himself. He could never forgive himself but he has to at least find peace with himself and his past. Ban from the 7 deadly sin once said that a real sin is something you can never repay/fix. That exactly his problem, he can never change his past into something positive but that doesn't mean he can't improve himself or try and better the universe even if it is unavoidably too late. To be good even when it's in vain is the mark of a true hero, and I never thought I'd say that about Megs.

Nah, Starscream can be charismatic, surprisingly intelligent and is generally entertaining to watch; Trump is a bottomless black hole of stupidity, narcissism and hatred.

Oh please, do point to where Trump was involved in a 4 million year lasting civil war, actual military action, or really, anything of note that comes even close.

@@matthewallen2273 Then they will have to execute Prime for supporting the legacy of the system that enslaved all Cybertronians, costing countless lives in the process, to say nothing of any culpability with Prowl, the Wreckers, the Dinobots, and countless more elements in the Autobot army. This icludes directly incorporating and utilizing bots (such as Whirl) who acted on behalf of the corrupt regime that led to the necessity of the Decepticon movement as well as those who then and still currently practice the literally mind-violating practitioners of shadowplay. If we count the lives taken by Decepticons, then we count the lives taken by Autobots. So put Prime on trial with Megatron presiding.

Killing what amounts to Robot Nazis? And he fought the system. He was trying to build something better before the war. The Autobot army did some bad things, but compared to the cons? Absolutely not. And that legacy you're talking about? They changed it. The Decepticons went from a good freedom movement to open death camps and genocide. Not the autobots. Yeah. No. Just no man. You are objectively wrong and missed so much. Megatron himself knew he needed to pay after his journey.

Also... it's Kangaroo court having Optimus there... really? The all around honorable tell no lies guy who has witnessed and suffered at Megatron's hands... that is not a Kangaroo court in the slightest.

The system of government is still worshipping a "god-king" of a prime in its system of governance. This leaves the "throne" open to any idiot to be incompetent or outright malicious. See: Rodimus Prime, Sentinel Prime, Furthermore, Optimus is a fucking imbecile. He supported Sentinel Prime and then ZETA prime, and it took until an apocalyptic event to decide he didnt like Zeta. It then took Megatron and the Decepticons, who had been screaming since pre-Sentinel that the system was corrupt, to stop it. Furthermore, the warcrimes committing elements of the old regime, such as Brainstorm, Whirl, etc are STILL ACTIVE in the Autobot machine. This also does not take into account Prowl, the Dinobots, the Wreckers, and more besides. The Autobots WERE MONSTERS. That would be the ENTIRE point of the Aequitas Trials and all that being hidden. They aren't better, they just hid the bullshit better and had better PR. The fact that Optimus was always late in condemning the evils of the existing power structure and making excuses for it where Megatron was at the forefront of advocating change, happily allows plausible deniability or is too stupid to see the shadow works in the Autobots like with Prowl as his close advisor and the Wreckers, and never PURGED the old elements or changed the structure of governance is damning. He did NOT fight the system compared to Megatron and the Decepticons. He SUPPORTED the system until EVETUALLY going to do the "right thing." Absolutely holds him as being culpable in the actions of the Autobots. The Autobots also bear the exact same icon of the prior government. The ones that had an apartheid caste system, the one that brutally oppressed workers, the ones who mutilated the mind and bodies of dissidents, the one that has all power in a "god-king", and the ones that wanted to use vampire lashses to kill EVERYONE who opposed them. You can't say "I totally reformed the Nazis/Catholic Church/Confederacy!" But change nothing of their structure and keep the old cabinet with you, only change out the guy at the top.

I mean… if I were the bearer of such a mythical item for eons, keeping it intact for that long, then you find out someone else breaks half of it, someone you trusted. I would have a heart attack.

And that was an older Megatron talking to the young fresh, hasn't seen anything of the war, Orion Pax (Optimus Before becoming a Prime) So during that call Megatron got to hear Orion's before their friendship had ever been clouded by the war... And was surprised at how much of a good friend Orion was.... And realizing now that Megatron of the past had been right for his sentiments and desire... but was wrong in his approach of how to fix the system... And now an older Megatron sees how much he's become like his oldest nemesis... And oldest friend

what did Megatron do to you? Look up Spotlight Megatron. Megtaron destroyed Starscream, after the seeker saved his life previously. What happened is that Starscream was in charge after Megatron was recovering from a horrific injury (Starscream didn't case it). Megatron's army just didn't want to obey the Air commander, and everything started to fall apart. Morale was all time low, just like resources, and Megatron's once strong army strated to fall apart. Bots even turned to cannibalism, while Starscream had no power to stop it, and reign the mechs in. Megatron came back, and lets just say we got 16 pages of Megatron brutally beating Strascream, while verbally destorying him too (at one point or another Starscream was begging for death). In IDW Megatron used to abuse Starscream a lot. When thy fist met, Starscream even shed tears, because he idolized Megatron. Down the line he gradually turned against Megatron because of the abuse Megatron put him trough.

@@pepita2437 🤨Megatron uses Starscream like a plaything, beating the scrap out of him every other episode of every show their in. Hell, Starscream barely survived the beating Megs gave him after his resurrection in TFPrime. Starscream saved Megatron, not because he idolizes him or loves him, but because he knew if and when Megatron returned he was going to annihilate him for sitting on his ass and running away like the little pussy he is. In one Comic, literally one, Megatron left the decepticons or went away and Starscream finally got his wish to lead and it almost killed him because he's such a weak pussy no one trusted him no one would follow him. Morale was low, yes, but that's cause it's the decepticons, no one trusts each other and they only followed megatron because they didn't want to die. Starscream begged for death because he was dying, not because Megatron was beatting him to death. IDW, Starscream Idolized megatron, everyone did even Optimus. Megatron put everyone through the wringer, Soundwave, shockwave, ravage, no one was spared. Only Starscream got it worse because he's a lying backstabbing coward no one trusts.

There's also everything from G1

There’s Spotlight Megatron, where he mentally tortured Starscream until he asked for death, twice! And then there’s the multitude of other times where Megatron would beat Starscream, to the point where he was probably excepting it whenever he did something wrong.

​@@melodyhendricks1973More like he's in limbo, and Starscream is the only one who can see him or communicate with him, so Starscream just assumes Bumblebee is a figment of his imagination or a hallucination. Later it is found that Bee was trapped in the singularity that Shockwave made in Crystal City, and he gets freed by Prime.
