I recently lost a Melocactus from the cold weather and it’s time I replaced it. After some searching on line I took a chance and ordered a couple. Let’s pot them up! Shot and edited on

I have an extra bonus piece of cactus I used to to graft my moon cactus, so lets try and make another one with an extra baby moon cactus and some cactus stalk. Shot and edited on an Insta360 Go3 and @Insta360.

It’s amateur hour on my kitchen table tonight as I attempt to save my moon cactus. The dragonfruit base was damaged and had to be cut away before the rot got to the top. Let’s see if can manage to save it. Shot on Insta360go3 and edited using @insta360
KALEIDOSCOPE + AEONIUM - 4 MINUTES
Просмотров 122 месяца назад
This Portulaca Afra ‘Kaleidoscope’ and an unknown Aeonium has been growing beside each other ever since I got them. Just makes sense to pot them up together too. Filmed and edited with @Insta360 and Insta360 GO3
GYMNOCALYCIUM - 3 MINUTES
Просмотров 732 месяца назад
You might recognize these as moon cactus or moon cacti without the green stalk. While moon cactus tend to be full colour, they cannot photosynthesize on their own and need to be grafted. These however have just enough variation in them to be able to sustain themselves without grafting. Filmed and edited with @Insta360 and Insta360 GO3
ASTROPHYTUM - 4 MINUTES

Just picked up these Astrophytum Asterias ‘Kaputo’ but they are definitely going to need some better draining soil than what these came in so let’s get started. Filmed and edited with @Insta360 and Insta360 GO3

I quit watching because of difficulty hearing the talking over the music. When are video makers going to figure this out??? When learing, music doesn't enhance my experience, it distracts from it!

What happens to the cut cacti? Do they continue to grow at the top or does the stump stay like that? Thanks

I’ve found the name of the cactus it’s Pachycereus Pringlei. Found it on eBay while browsing. Thanks again for the video. I like the idea of using polythene instead of cardboard.😂🌵🌵🥰

Not right away, it will be more prone to drying out if you have two open wounds on both ends of the cactus. Its better to just split into two, and then splitting again if you would like to make more.

    1. Those tongs are for food and are too sharp to use on cactus. I use rubber tipped tongs. 2. To strike cactus i stick them into a pot of dry Perlite till they root

@@takeiteasy7062 Any gravel is good. You can give it a good wash too. I'm pretty sure the gravel we used was sitting outside for a while on the drive way hehe. Perlite can be added in to provide more aeration so a mixture is good but not a necessity.

Nope? You can let the end dry out a bit so it doesn’t rot. You can wait a while before watering.

My dad used just any old garden gravel, or landscaping gravel. Nothing special about the gravel. Just any rocks would do to help with aeration and drainage.

First one is some sort of Columnar Cacti, and second one I believe is a Pilosocereus azureus or Brazilian Blue Cactus

There are so many random facts on the internet now that are just not necessary. Plants survived out in the wild somehow without tiktok hacks for propagation hehe.
