      Hello, thanks for your comment. I launched at Providence St. near Mason St. Here: maps.app.goo.gl/5rvVUXFhZ5e2KD9o9 I wasn't fishing, so I can't comment on that, but I saw lots of herons and songbirds, even a huge turkey high up in a tree. North of the launch is more scenic than south, but there are several downed trees that are only easily passable at high water levels

    Would love to see simple triads chord forms and their inversions + as a bonus some "seventh" (or even "ninth") chords (jazzy). Seems it would be a bit challenging with this layout of "fourths". The layout of "fifths" would be even worse. I can see you play 4 note chords using both hands, which is a bit waste of fingers.

    • @sonder_wonder
      @sonder_wonder 3 года назад

      Chords with 4 or more unique notes usually require both hands even on piano, especially more open as opposed to closed voicings. Granted, the Linnstrument doesn't seem to offer the same kind of hand independence as the piano, unless you really simply the left hand chord/rhythm work to simple triads or 7th chords. I made this chord chart of Linnstrument chords in 4th tuning a long time ago: www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=486757

    • @PASHKULI

      @@sonder_wonder Thank you for the diagrams. Yes, that is what I mean. Actually you can make the diagrams directly on an .svg (incl. layers). Rodger Linn sent me those a couple of days ago. They (the .svg files with the LinnStrument keys) are on his website: Linnstrument → 4th String Layout (link) Your diagram is also there: Support → Chord & Scale Shapes (a the bottom of the page).

    • @PASHKULI
      @PASHKULI 3 года назад

      It is obvious that the '4th String Layout' makes the shapes of root voiced chords almost unplayable with one hand. Even for some of the triads... let alone the so called "seventh" chords. They are a breeze on my keyboard though...

  • @PawsAndKeys

    Very pretty, could be in a video game soundtrack. Do you experiment with adding some bass tones, maybe the LH pinky could be used to add that bass layer?

    • @sonder_wonder
      @sonder_wonder 3 года назад

      This video is pretty old now, and my Linnstrument technique and go-to voicings have changed too. Usually my left-hand thumb is playing the root or bass note of a chord and the natural angle of my left-hand wrist places my pinky somewhere in the middle of the register I'm playing in rather than toward the bass or lower end. Though I love this instrument in that it let's play play more pianistically, it is no piano. It's not really possible to have the same left and right hand independence - bass/chord (LH) + melody (RH) - playing Linnstrument as one can on piano.

    The advance guard, the hero, Theryon Mystwalker, approaches the orcs and fires a surprise volley. Devastating hit, the orc chieftain is skewered by the Ranger's arrows as Theryon's swift feet ascend a nearby pine. Before the orcs can respond to this shuffling of feet, a ridiculously OP lance skewers one orc, even as psychic blades and firebolts incapacitate the third. The heroes then light a fire and feast on the orc flesh, MMMM MMM, fingerlicking good.

    Beautiful! Thank you for playing a piano piece on the linnstrument. How are the velocities on linnstrument? I feel like i hear less velocity differences on it than some other midi controllers. That pitchslide you played at the end was cool. I play guitar so I think you played Major7, m7, m7, a cpuple times in this song. How do your wrists feel after playing the m7 chords that are in a row? Is the 127 enough or is the octave range limiting?

    • @sonder_wonder
      @sonder_wonder 3 года назад

      Hi there, to be honest, I find it difficult to have precise control over velocity when playing two-handed. Not that the Linnstrument isn't wonderfully responsive - it is. It's just really hard to strike multiple notes with two different hands equally hard. I usually use a MIDI velocity compressor to even out the note velocities. This video, I actually just fixed the velocity of every note at 64. Yeah, this song is mostly 7th chords. It doesn't bother my wrists to play nots stacked in a column like those minor 7 voicings, but I do change the angles of my wrists/flare out my elbows as I play to reduce strain. I've never played the smaller Linnstrument 128. I think it would be enough, but I do like the full size version.
