Ooh!! This video is for me!! I liked how you switched between microphones during the video so we can hear the difference. I might pick up the blue yeti after watching your video🎉
Thx for watching and it's a great microphone. Just needs a computer most of the time to have it up and running!
Just got back into photography and really do it as a hobby. I used to focus on all types of media when I was a kid and would develop film and make videos with friends back in 2012. Here was my journey getting back into it. Now that mirrorless has taken over, I looked at the r6 mark 2 and was looking like I was going to spend about 2k on the camera. Then a good rf lens was another 1600, so I was considering almost 4k to get back into what will be a hobby. After looking into it deeper, noticed that the mirrorless is really good for video and autofocus and the pictures are great but the r6 at 24mp and a lot of great features I would not use probably was not the best use of my money. So I looked back into the DSLR that I knew growing up. I found a 6d mark 2 for a little less than 500 that was practically new with less that 5k shutter count, and I chose the 24-70 f2.8 version 1 that I found for a little less than 400. I really liked what I was getting for the money with this set up. So long story short, as a budget set up I look at it like, if this was 2012, I have a 4k dollar set up that would just be so awesome to have back then and still am getting great shots now. If you are getting a budget set up to just have fun I highly recommend these older L zoom lenses just for the fact that it is so convenient to get different shots instead of changing out lens after lens. It was a hard toss up to get the 24-105 f4 but the 2.8 is what had me sold being that the 6d does not have flash and I need all the help I can get for low light. My next lens will be a 70-200 f4 and I feel like my hobby rig will be complete!!!
Dude, that is awesome. I was considering the f4 70-200 at one point. and I'll be honest with you, I've been rocking with the 24-70mm 2.8 and 70-200mm 2.8 and I really don't carry anything else in my camera backpack! Though I have a very good photographer friend who upgraded to the Canon 6D MkII and he loves that camera to death haha.
@@_kamkodak Is the 70-200 f2.8 the heaviest lens ever? I was thinking going f4 just to be lighter because the 24-70 is surprisingly heavy. My only complain about it
@@TheRolexSlayer it is heavy though I always carry a camera strap so it does not bother me
I have the Peak Design wrist / shoulder attachments on my EOS R also. Nice. Great video. Looking to get the "filter drop-in" version for the EOS R to EF adapter. Quite expensive though.
Funny enough I was planning on getting that filter but I already had an expensive ND Filter so I opted for the control ring Rf to EF adapter. Lemme know how the filter adapter is!
But Ultimately R5/R52 .... MONSTER ,,,!!!
the funny thing is I was just doing research on it 10 hours ago at work. but I can never afford it
Copped mine in 2019, ain't looked back since, under consideration are as follows,... 5DSR ,90D or another EOS-R ... maybe leaning towards 5DSR, 50 MEGAPIXELS ,... KILLER portrait taker ... still deciding ...
I would say the 5DSR or another EOS R. I just like the EVF so much that I can't stop using it!
Version 2 is one of my most used lenses! It's great to see people still reviewing the old EF L lenses!
Thank you! I love EF glass and will continue to buy Ef glass unless there's a huge price cut on RF lenses
bought a new in 2014 and it's still a Boss lens...
Thanks I check that out....
Just got this lens 2 days ago...used and got a 5d mk2 body... notice I can't get crisp focus should I calibrate or just go through the motions.. checking all that what I'm doing wrong first thanks
it depends on the wear and tear of the camera, but the 5dmk2 is an amazing camera. I have heard calibrations may be needed for DSLR cameras. I would try the lens first and make sure it has full contact on the gold pins.
Had this lens for the majority of my wedding projects this past year and it has no doubt been a life saver!
@@zie404 dude that is awesome! I wish I could do more weddings but I’m very grateful for my portrait and family shoots haha
@@_kamkodak if i'm not mistaken we literally have the same setup eos R with 24-70 hahaha. Take it slow and keep on marketing your work dude! I would love to work with you but unfortunately it might not be possible for now. But maybe in the future who know hahaha. I just followed you on IG!
I’m going to see if I can find it on marketplace 🎉 I only have one lens and it’s the one my camera came with 😂 I think it’s time to add more depth to my photos
I’m definitely a second hand fan! ❤ there’s so many treasures to discover!
2.8 24-70s are the perfect lens. I have one for sony e mount and it’s beautiful
Great video, needs a bigger community. Would only do the voice a bit louder and the background music a bit quieter
❤❤
My first mirrorless is the EOS R that I bought refurbished from Canon with full warranty. I bought the EF to RF converter due to the high prices of RF lense.
I'm gonna buy eos R from my friend in couple of days, so I'm glad that I find this video 🙋
Glad I was able to help!
same my 1st camera use Canon 70D with EF 50mm 1.8 STM and i upgrade to Canon EOS RP.. if i have enough money maybe that time i get the eos r.. maybe in future i will get the R6 iii..coming.
I've been looking at the r6 mk2 and I think it would be a worth upgrade for me, but rn my EOS R still does everything I want haha
Good video 👍 The Canon EOS R was my first mirrorless camera as well. I started with a DSLR too, a used Canon 5D Mark III. I also love the lighter weight of mirrorless cameras. The 5DIII is built like a tank-and feels like it weighs as much. lol. I can relate to perfectionism holding you back from posting videos. If it makes you feel better, your videos look much better than mine 😅 I mostly record them for myself so I can look back later on my photography journey. Would be cool to see your photos in future videos.
Thank you dude, this means a lot! I plan on showing some of my photos on the next upcoming video lol
plus that MKI is BEAUTIFUL! Mint condition, can you believe that bad boy is 23 years old and looks that good?! someone took real good care of it, I try to take care of my gear and Lord willing I am around in 23 years, I Hope it all looks as good. I bought the MKIII second hand from MPB to save money, I Hope it looks as clean as yours lol.
@@CenturionsofFaithMichaelPoehls I hope so too dude. MPB does a great job taking care of used camera gear too
exactly, I got the MKIII for our ministry / studio and got other lenses that have contrast issues. who cares, exactly! I can fix all contrast issues from my picture profiles on my R7, and even the 90D can do it too. The R series have the option for "Clarity" option external to the picture profiles, which is a huge boost in contrast when you are needing it. Subbed, you can see the latest video I made, filmed with R7 and Canon 90D, the R7 and 90D super similar, just the R7 has better autofocus and the wonderful 7K downsampled to 4k fine video, which is amazing, I filmed the video in FHD and it had such amazing colors and details, even in FHD not even 4k! The 90D has very awesome 4k video with Cinestyle profile for color grading, its a perfect B cam for R7 / R6MKII. Sorry for nerding out, I just really enjoy photography and videography!
@@CenturionsofFaithMichaelPoehls dude that’s awesome and no need to be sorry for nerding out. It shows the passion we both have for cameras!
It’s definitely my next mic once I hit 1000 subscribers 🎉
@@alchemythroughsisterhood I know you’ll like it! I can’t stop using mine haha
Definitely my next mic!
I never thought to use external storage! Good idea 😮
I learned this tip so then I can record at the max quality of Apple Pro Res
I love that you purchased a second hand lens! I’m also a shopper of the second hand market. It’s so smart. I’m currently using my iPhone SE to film my videos and only will upgrade my camera only when I start making money on RUclips! And yes! It will be second hand 😊😊😊
Second hand is so worth it. I recommend MPB.com and KEH.com if you want quality second hand products!
I finally found a good review of the version 1 after I sold it. Thanks. I upgraded to the version 2. I find them very similar and I found the version 1 a little cleaner not sharper just cleaner photos.
@@Terrilltf that’s an awesome discovery! I’m going to stick to the version 1 for a while unless an opportunity arrives
@@_kamkodak i really don’t think it’s worth the extra cost for very little difference.
I got my R couple months ago. Still learning it but so so good.
You are going to fall in love with it!
The reason why i go from my 700D (Rebel Ti5 i mean) to the R. Great explanation ☺️
Thank you! I tried a little harder when making this video too haha.
That’s a beautiful lens and the next one on my wish list ❤
@@Thejunoroux I’m glad I picked it up. You will be too when you get one!
How have you found the 200 in the last 3 months?
its been great! I still print photos til this day. The only thing I wish I had more of is bigger paper haha!
Ive had my EOS R since 2020. It's still a great photography camera. I do more video work now So I also picked up the R8 for 10bit color. Enjoy the R , Its definitely a workhorse !
lol I have the atomos ninja v and get 10bit that way but im very happy to hear your story!
Very nice, I’d love to see a video about your photography soon :)
Coming soon!
Damn the quality is soo good
@@kavitha.varunstar sorry for the late reply but tysm! I try my best to make the best of the best
An 8 year old DSLR is pretty much still a young DSLR with an autofocus speed that rivals the newer system camera's. My D750 will be 10 years old this year and I still consider it a recent DSLR. It was cheaper than my X-T3, but it's full frame, has faster autofocus, better low light performance and you can find a lot of great AF-D lenses for cheap (because these cannot autofocus on the Nikon Z camera's). On the other hand I like the lighter weight of the X-T3 and the Fujifilm XF lenses are pretty sharp. If you want a Fujifilm on a budget, you would still be happy with a X-T1 or X-T2.
And the funny thing is I’m most likely going to save up for the X-T2 for my next camera so then I can have a camera that I can carry with me everywhere lol
2000's camcorder gang where you at
Camcorders used to be my go to!!!
Listen everyone, doesn’t matter what camera you buy, the camera will grow on you and you will learn from it and creative from it. Photography is subjective
And that is the art of creativity and photography. The subjective aspect of art is what drives me to continue to make art!
My D750 still going strong. If it ain't broke
You’re right. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!!!
8 years is not that long in camera terms. Sure newer cameras have all the bells and whistles and do things quicker but people need to be able to do the essentials before realizing their camera holds them back.
you sure are right! and I am glad that i still stick with older cameras because it makes me feel more connected with the photos I take
What a dumb title. There are people using 12, 16, and 20 year old cameras in 2024. I still use my original 5D and 1DX, even though I own a later 5D4, R6,, R5. You, sir, are dumb as fuck
Just bought an SLR from Ukraine from 1980…. Also use a rangefinder from USSR from 1960. Both work perfectly
that is very awesome! i have a love/hate relationship with viewfinders but sitll find them ery useful for composition.
Bro I'm using a 70 year old rangefinder camera, what are you on about 🙂
haha that is still really kool though. The Canon 80D is still old to me but Istill love it to pieces
I wanted to buy modern, something from R series. But I don't wanted to wait and bought 1200D, so cheap and it's ok for photos, it's even can record video (25fps, but software with frame interpolation can do 60 fps very well).
One of my good buddies has the Canon EOS R and it is a great camera, but I always found myself loving the older DSLR cameras from canon more appealing, and of course, cheaper
Who would buy an 8 year old camera? *Looks over at my 12 year old Sony A57 and my 13 year old Nikon 1J1*. Only 8 years? Sounds so new, maybe I'll do that as a major upgrade! lol
LOL you should as long as it fits your budget and makes you happy. I just needed a camera that works with my lenses and had a photoshoot coming up soon, so i went to my local camera store to pick one up and was very happy with my purchase.
I literally bought used nikon d3200 last summer. Got it with kit lens and 24k shutter count for 125$.
That is so awesome! i know you're happy with your purchase.
I currently using an camera over 15 years old
That is so wild! I bet there is something nostalgic about going back to that camera that not a lot of people would understand.
Love my 80D! Great choice!
I love the 80D too! the only problem I have now is finding more time to shoot and enjoy photography, though i will soon get there!
I started with a Canon 500D then wasted money moving to the 60D and ultimately went in to the 5D series. 5D2 for 10 years and now 5DsR & 5D4 bodies. It would cost me £10k for bodies alone to replace my DSLR's with Canon R5's let alone the elevatable move to some RF glass. Not happening.
So before I purchased the 80D, I was looking at a 5Dmkii and a 6D, but after looking at the capabilities and the fact that I already own the Sigma 18-35mm 1.8, I chose to stick with what I knew best. I have always wanted to try the 5D4, but I think I'm very comfortable with crop sensors. And you made the right choice for yourself and I couldn't be any more happy for you and my own gear decisions!
Yeah lens kit you own okays a large part in such decisions. @@_kamkodak Been shooting my 5DsR last few days on a product job,. just waiting on sign off from the client now. All great kit.
Me to, still using 80D, mainly for video. I even still use 550d with sigma 30mm/1.4. Sigma 30mm/1.4 is such a underestimated lens, work for me nicely.
I bet the 30mm 1.4 was a great purchase. I was looking at that lens some years back but decided to go with the Sigma 35mm 1.4. The Sigma 35mm 1.4 used to be my go-to, but had to let it go because it kept missing focus. It was a sad time, though soon right after I picked up the Sigma 18-35mm 1.8 and I haven't looked back haha
@@_kamkodak It was before art series lens was released. 30mm on 1,6 crop is more natural field of view then 50mm. It was bit more than 3x price of nifty fifty but still about half of art series 30 mm. My copy is sharper and have better contrast then my ( everywhere highly appreciated) canon 17-55mm 2.8 lens.
I just bought gx80 in 2024 😅
dude that is really awesome! I'll have to go and watch your review on the camera really soon on your channel.
thanks, but its in polish mate, sorry :(@@_kamkodak
