Is this just a USBC WiFi dongle - or does it have some other circuitry that a regular WiFi dongle wouldn't have?

I used my Machete and or a Electric Carving Knife works well. I see that the saw works also, thanks for the info/video!

I have not been able to get the dongle to show up on my wifi system, there does not appear to be a signal from the dongle. Is this dongle just a generic wifi dongle or does it carry some programming in the dongle itself?

Oh, thank you! I tried your method but there was not enough surface area to twist, so I just put a band of duct tape over the diameter of the bulb, and wala - the bulb moved and I could remove it! Amazon is getting ready to start charging for the use of Alexa, So I am eliminating the use of Alexa. Being a Prime member should be enough! I also have a Mr. Cool and that app is easy to use. I want the Senville app or Midea app to work but my Senville 24K Aura, AP indicator on the panel just turns on and does not flash as per instruction, WTF, to be able to connect to the app.

Worked. it allowed me to pull down slightly which loosened the bulb.

If you have senville aura and the QR code dosent work. Push led button 7 times on remote untill "AP" is shown on the unit. Then add device on alexa pick senville AC and continue. it will connect automatically before u have to scan a qr code by detecting the device

Best way since sliced bread! I've used your idea and it has less cast off fibers in the air. The wider surface of the saw blocks the excess floating mess, unlike the long knife utility blade. You'll never get a cut in one pass and your slicing action gets it all over you while dulling the blade(requires a lot of blades). Thanks for this idea! It's the only way to go.

Like everyone said, use echo app not senville's. It didnt work for hours and alexa worked first time. Joined network and is now working remotely, if I want. Might look into just having router have it join. We'll see.

is this dongle needed? Do some of the units come with builtin wifi? Looking at the 18k btu unit and the features suggests wifi but i'm confused as to whether it includes it or its to be purchased separately.

Aura 18k....didn't work for me. I called tech support and their suggestion worked - simply don't jam the buttons down too hard. Press up/down together at same time lightly for 3 secs. I don't think mode matters but I was in heat mode. Took 3 tries to find the right pressure but it did the trick

Thank you for posting this video for further explaining what the plate to and how it protect from screws or nails. Since I am a new learner from electrical work. I will look for useful skills and other good tips to work on electrical stuff!

I used this trick today on a 23 inch long fluorescent bulb that would not twist. It worked great! Gave me the leverage I needed and twisted on the first attempt.

I tried this method but the bulb simply would not budge. I have only 1 ceiling light of 4 working in kitchen at present. The last bulb that I could get out came out with part of the holder so not possible to insert a new bulb. I think the heat destroys the holder over time (or cheap light fittings). I think the advice about wearing goggles is sound. Imagine getting glass in your eye from a shattered bulb!

I had no idea what to do for my small can light with a stuck bulb! I did not have the black strong tape but masking tape did the job for me! Thanks for the help.

Just a note: if the Senville app seems incapable of detecting your unit, or if it says the QR code is wrong, just use the Alexa app instead. Senville’s app is garbage.

As stated below, don' bother using the Senville app. Just add it through the Alexa app. I tried to do both and it messed up. Deleted the Senville app and restarted with just Alexa and it worked perfectly. I just installed a 3 head unit and got them all to connect without an issue. The newer Aura model I got had you remove the LED module to connect the dongle. It's one screw under the cover and then slide the module to the left an inch or so. Plug in the dongle and reinstall the module. Make sure the tabs are all slid under the holders or the LED display won't be flush and it will look a little fuzzy.

Do you need one of these for each unit you have? Say I was to have a tri-zone system. Do I need 3 dongles?
