Did either of you notice if the Parkers had ditched the painting of Sidney? I never noticed it! He's been forgotten by all! They didn't even name a street, or building, after the man who saved Sanditon!

In S1, despite Babington and Esther's wedding, Charlotte and Sidney are the central couple! In S2, Alison and Captain Fraser's relationship is the best! In S3, Lady Susan and Samuel's relationship is the best! I never felt a lot of chemistry between Charlotte and Alexander! Alexander could be weak, immature and manipulative! They never spent that much time together. He treated her badly, in S2. In S3, he uses Georgiana's legal problems and the brother, who he hasn't spoken to - for 10yrs - to get back with Charlotte! He's never friendly to Georgiana! Why was Charlotte allowed to go off, unchaperoned, with Colbourne, looking for Augusta - when she was engaged to Ralph! Poor Ralph get too much flak! He loved Charlotte and she accepted his proposal! He didn't know about Sidney, or Colbourne! WhatCharlotte has outgrown Willingden! Her family don't even appear at her wedding! As for Georgians and Otis! Once they marry, her money becomes his! Has he given up gambling! He must have been a dreadful gambler/badly addicted! Sidney paid over £1,800 to clear his debts! The equivalent of about £25,000, today! 😱

The Parkers seemed to be completely unaware of Edward's bad behaviour, throughout!

I think that Edward is attracted to Augusta because she reminds him of Esther. I think that he does have genuine feeling for her but a leopard can't change it's spots! Colbourne would never accept him. Charlotte was never aware of the worst of Edward's behaviour!

You do not know anything about Jane Austen, if you are talking about seasons. There should have been a period drama, with six to eight episodes, where Sidney and Charlotte fell in love and married. That is Jane Austen! What happened was a great disappointment, and I never watched the other seasons. I am glad that I found the book, that was finished by ‘Another Lady’, because she knew Jane Austen.

Lovely to see you again ladies, you make my day! Sanditon reflections are definitely on point always and how I miss these characters and this story. I love Charlotte but her conflicted character is the result of her dramatic forays in the world of love. Sidney’s death and treatment of her during their relationship made her unsure of men, and Alexander was her employer and forbidden fruit so to speak. But her heart wants him and not Ralph, so we have the ups and downs that come with trying to do “the right thing.” What did Jane Austen famously say…“My characters shall have, after a little trouble, all that they desire.” So we know there is a HEA coming. That is why I did not enjoy the ending of season one. Sidney is the main protagonist in her original story alongside Charlotte. Theo James and the producers should have honoured that! Having said this, I now am happy to see Alexander win Charlotte. He did not waver in his feelings for her❤❤❤

Edward was invited to events because there were two prominent and overly proud men competing with each other to prove that they alone could rehabilitate Edward. Events provided opportunities to show off their work. See!?! See how well behaved and reformed Sir Edward is!

It was in series 2 that CH was avoiding marriage to RS. Lady Frederick Windsor is the actresses REAL name . Her name in S2 was Lady Worcester. In S2 Arthur told CH that she was an intimate friend of the Prince Regent on the beach, before the regatta, after she arrived at Sanditon in her carriage. Also, after the regatta, before she left, the Parkers thought that the 'friend' she was referring to was the Prince Regent.

Series 1 of Sanditon was wonderful, in season 2 Sidney should have been replaced. Goodness, series 2 and 3 were, in my opinion, awful. My only hope is that they do a re make of Sanditon as Jane Austin would have wanted. Colbourne was creepy and kisses his horse, I dont even want to think about Arthur, Lady Susan Worchester turned into someone different. Esther looked strange,, Edward should have been in prison. Even Charlotte seemed a different character. Lady Denhams romance was more interesting than Charlottes. Im so sad about how this wonderful story was ruined. Love u girls

It was my assumption that Charlotte was not yet aware of her parents' arrangement with Ralph's parents in season one or she wasn't yet being pressured in that direction. She finds out between one and two and then we hear about it in season two. Mr. Heywood would not have pushed her toward Colbourne because at the end of season two Colbourne was not an option. Ralph was a sure thing. They knew the family. They knew Charlotte would be well cared for. If Mr. Heywood knew about Mr. Colbourne, what he knew was that some rich man dumped and/or fired his daughter for no apparent reason.

I loved the balloon scene with Arthur coming to the rescue it was so funny.

just watched season 2 again and found Alison just plain irritating. Agree with you regarding Charlotte rescuing Leo it was so unbelievable. Very suprised that Esther did not speak to Charlotte as if she did not know her. Considering Charlotte was at her wedding to Babington.

Charlotte actually did say she “regretted the manner of her leaving”. Another plot hole for me.

I'll just say this. Even though I disagree with some of your views about this show (we can't all have the same opinions), I really enjoy your content, you make me genuinely laugh and at the end of the day I keep coming back for more. So thank you. Now, about costumes. As you said, the two seasons were filmed back to back and it was pretty much the same team. The only difference, it was set in Autumn. As for the hair, I too appreciated that they fixed the loose mess from season 2 but the wig lace was so noticeable at times, it was annoying! Also as an introvert myself, I understand Colbourne’s need for some time before socialising, and that's all I'll say about that. And lastly, Charlotte never confided in Georgiana. It was always the other way around. In the first season the moment she tried to say something she was cut off from Georgiana's prejudice about Sidney. In the 2nd G and Alison were so fixed on Lennox and Charlotte didn't say anything about Colbourne to her because she herself didn't realise what her feelings were until the ending of Ep 5. This is the season it becomes a two-way friendship. "You're not catholic" 😂😂😂

One thought on Sir Edward and the hose. I think they were channeling Colin Firth in Pride and Prejudice when he created quite a sensation with the white shirt emerging from the lake.

I love how they stayed true to the simple jewelry. Clothing was beautiful! Lady Susan's name was confusing for me at first as well. Her story was perfect! I am still rooting for a Babington spinoff. Augusta and Lady Babington could be great friends. Add Leo into that mix and shenanigans WILL ensue!

Season 1 was perfection. I watched the other seasons and was not crazy about them at all, and why so woke? It's regency for God's sake. My only hope is that someone will do a movie and make things right. The sad part is that Theo James and Rose Williams will probably not be in future programming. So sad.

I think to be called Lady Susan, her father would have been titled, but she tells us that she married her title, not born to it. So her title was tied to her husband, like Lady Denham. Yes?

The way SP looks at CH, when she is tending to IS, is, exactly, the same as the way Capt.W looks at AE, as she tends Louise, after the accident, on The Cob, Lyme Regis.

The last 'real' Sanditon episode! 😩

Sidney's hands are all wrong when he's boxing. His technique is poor. Sidney's little fingers would have been snapped off! Sidney looks quite skinny by Ep.7. Simon, also, has the better body. Beach with Sidney. Simon is the better dancer. Simon is the better kisser. Simon has the better lips - especially, on spoons. Simon is the most experienced lover. Sidney must have been to Mrs Harries' brothel, recently. Simon is more passionate. Simon has a better voice, with better diction. Overall, its got to be Simon. Simon and Sidney are both good with relative's children. Simon's hands are the best.

CH lives in fantasy land! She puts too much pressure on SP re.: Tom, Georgiana and finding money to pay Tom's debts! She thinks that she, always, knows best! She ended up reaping what she had sewn. She seems angry, at SP, at Babington's wedding. I don't think that she loved SP, as much as he loved her. I think that she was a young girl, lacking maturity (with a head full of novels), who thought that she was going to marry a handsome/wealthy man. In S2 she blames SP for betraying her and breaking her heart, to make AC think that they have more in common!!! Never mind poor, dead SP! She's stopped crying soon after getting back into her carriage, to Willingden! She gets over SP's death, after lighting a candle! She soon forgets him and moves on to an older, wealthier man, who she has NO competition for! Farmers, like her father, are not good enough, for her! 😩

I was really disappointed that only the richest people get what/who they want, in Sanditon! 😏

He should have stayed with her for the next dance! 😩

Surely, if Ralph and Charlotte are engaged, wouldn't they be married before AC comes back to Sanditon?
