    I'm among those you are helping so keep up the solid analysis and advice. I'll throw out two thoughts related to having a system and remembering some of Al's advice in case others are suffering the same challenge as I am. Perfectionism eats me up and I let many good setups pass (then get mad). Having a system alleviates this tendency, assuming you keep it simple. Related, Al says two things: 1. If you're a trader, TRADE! 2. Trade stupid (i.e. react, don't predict, or I recall him saying somewhere, "Trade like Gump"). I know these things, now I just need to overcome allowing perfect to be the enemy of very good. Having a basic system should correct (I hope) and keep me from repeating the same mistakes. Thanks again.

    Thanks for the review! Why would there be trapped sellers below 6? Because it’s a L2? Just wondering since it was a bad sell signal bar and the context didn’t seem great for bears.

    • @khaledamer1037
      @khaledamer1037 41 минуту назад

      As I understood, it is a trapped seller that sold at the top of Y TR. They are trapped by the gap up and will buy back their short below 6 so there is a buying pressure there.

    Great words. Would trading always in based on the stop order entries Al marks in his blog qualify as a system for you? It has clear and simple rules; always the same (small) contract size and reverse on a decent counter signal and stay in the postion until a new decent counter signal appears. And since there are no a.i. solvers available in trading like in chess or poker, Al's entries are the next best thing to compare my own entries to and learn from them.

He does a great job of tying the principles taught in Al Brooks’ videos and books to actual price action charts. Also, his video on “leg counting” was particularly helpful to me for clarifying bar counting.

    in weekly chart you called that small doji bar as "Major HL" isn't it a minor HL according to Al Brooks method ? I thought that HL at middle of Apr was major HL because it has strong bear and bull move prior and next to it .

    • @JosephImbornone10
      @JosephImbornone10 День назад

      Because there was a pullback and then the market rallied strongly to a new high, that swing point would be considered a major higher low. You can argue it's less major than the April HL, but in either case the bears successfully created a deep and disappointing pullback. It's similar to bar 32 on this day. Technically the high of 32 was a major LH, but it was less major than bar 28.

      Trading is subjective so I try to keep this channel about reading charts objectively, but I will try to incorporate my thoughts on managing hypothetical trades in the future. And in general, as soon as your premise is invalid, exit the trade immediately. That is why it's so important to clearly define your premise.

    Joseph, that last 10 minutes was pure gold. You should clip that and put it on a separate playlist. I've studied Dr. Brooks for a year and a half and didn't start having success until focusing on those two things--breakouts and always in. I also had to go to a higher time frame--15 minute charts--fewer decisions and I found it easier to stay in swings. Thanks for your videos.

    Thank you Joseph. I am a viewer from China and I have been studying PriceAction for almost half a year. Although I have watched all the videos, my English may not be good, so I often cannot remember the knowledge in the course. I have to say that there are too many knowledge points! I often remember it while studying, but forget it when I actually put it into practice. And only after the chart was displayed did I realize, oh~So that's what happened. These days, through your review, I have learned a lot of knowledge. Thank you very much! For example, before this video, when I saw the bullish candlestick of 53/54, I would think it was AIL and buy, but the result was naturally a failure. I don't know why there was a deep pullback to test the high point of 52, but today's video helped me understand why. thank you!

    Thanks for the video an the last words, i questioned myself the same things yesterday when i was out for a walk. You gave me the answer today, i was thinking the same way but had doubts about myself and thought it is essencial to have the ability to read charts like you an al. But its like with other things a car mechanic might not be the best racer or car driver out there, the basics like the brakes, gas pedal and steeringwheel are needed plus a smart head. I also came to the conclusion for myself that it is something like uncertainty wich i want to compensate with knowledge. Thanks a lot i appreciate that.

    • @JosephImbornone10
      @JosephImbornone10 2 дня назад

      Really well said about a mechanic vs racer. I had the same issue with overcompensating my chart reading because of uncertainties. Then I realized I spent all of my time developing my ability to read charts and no time on system development. Systems allow one to let go of uncertainties. Focus on the process and stop caring about the outcome (P/L). There’s always going to be some uncertainty in real time so you likely need some sort of system to give you the confidence to execute. Keep thinking of analogies and keep up the great work!

    Your analysis is great as usual, but those ending words are gold. I have studied Al Brooks for 3-4 years, and have studied Ali's content as well. I've been trading really well since July with 1 main setup (bopb). Then last 2 weeks I traded poorly. I got arrogant and started taking other trade setups thinking I could be making more money--I lost money of course. I spent this week recovering from my foolishness. Anyone reading this, take Joseph's closing thoughts to heart. Learn 1 setup so well that you can trade it systematically, remove discretion from the process. Not only will you make money, you will do so relatively stress free ( they go hand in hand).

      @@guardeous My setup is for BOFT and micro channels. It's all based on Al Brooks, but more specifically Ali Moin Afshara (Quant Systems on YT). He has videos and interviews on YT that explain BOs very well. My rules are based on his rules, but I tweaked my entries, stops, target for myself--and back testing is important for seeing how it performed in different market cycles and volatility. For instance, I don't trade it in low volatility, but in high volatility I trade it with higher risk/reward. Take Ali's advice and get your rules as specific as possible. Discretion does not mean you get to do whatever feel like, there are still rules to it. If you are not consistently profitable already, discretion will ruin your account and peace of mind. Find a setup and specialize in it until you know it so well, nothing surprises you, and losses becomes less important than whether you followed your proven and tested trade plan. Losses are part of every plan; just speed bumps.

    Appreciate your words at the end of the video. BOs are a staple for me. Always In, is often easy to spot and difficult to stay in the market. One of my favorite sections of Al's Book 3 is: Until you are consistently profitable, the trades you take should be the very best trades, like a two-legged pullback in a strong trend, a strong opening reversal, a trend reversal after a very strong trend line break, or entering on a very strong spike. Just focusing on those things each day and letting the rest go has been a game changer for me, personally.

Please explain how you see selling bar 10 for DT after 4 BLBs each making HH is ok. while buying above 13 after 4 BRBs with a tail below except the SSB bar10. can you elaborate on the difference between the 2 cases? I understand what you said about bar11 the size matters more than the close. but the 2 legs are the same size and number of bars the BL leg looks even better with small wicks on top while the BR leg has long tails below.

    • @JosephImbornone10
      @JosephImbornone10 День назад

      Great question, I understand the confusion. The main problem with the rally from bars 5-8 is that it was a late leg. Also, the market did not break above bar 1 on that rally, and on a smaller time frame, the rally was a channel. Notice how traders were able to buy PBs and enter on LMT orders in the bull case, but if you tried to sell a PB after bar 10 or 11 you would have been trapped out. The bear leg is leg 1 and the higher time frame context showed that the market was at the top of a broad bull channel. The selloff was more of a parabolic wedge with 9, 11, and 12 which is a BO. In short, bar 10 had the potential to lead to a major reversal while bar 13 was much more likely to be a minor reversal.

    Gah, don't comment while video run! I watch your reviews every morning (for me, Europe) when I wake up. I hope this will eventually let me reflect on the information every bar give. I really hope you will continue for a long time! I also appreciate the "consistency" in your video (as in almost every day. It is very good to know what to expect and when!)

    I am reading the market using Al’s PA and FP combined. It’s a work in progress. Keep up your videos. It’s been a while since I started reading candlesticks.
