2023 Ascent 5K
On Saturday, October 7, 2023 Mountain Air hosted the 7th Annual Ascent. This 5K road race/walk climbs 1,800 feet up our mountain from the gatehouse to the air strip. At an elevation of 4,600 feet, this is definitely the most spectacular finish line in Western North Carolina. This year, we added a "Fun Run" option on the runway for everyone to enjoy!

Airspeed too low. Way to early to hear a stall warning, esp with the runway being on a cliff, if you came up short you'd be dead

Mountain Air Airport. It's a private airport in North Carolina. It has golf courses and homes for millions of dollars
Some of the homes there sell for far less than $1 million.
