Its fantastic to stumble upon Johnny here, because today I was watching a VHS tape from 1987 from camp ACHOR (campmeeting) in ipys, Mich. Johnny would play haty-sack with my kids!
Kathe Bernstein I listen to this Johnny Johnny Johnny probably when he came to Washington Avenue Baptist Church in Evansville Indiana the best music of ever had I played it at my mother's funeral everybody loved his music he's just the best
I was just recently introduced to Gold City when I started watching videos in RUclips. I love Southern Gospel music and I listened to the Kingsmen when I was younger, although I didn't know any of the singer's names. When I heard that amazing tenor voice of Jay Parrak, I thought, Wow!! If that voice isn't from God, I don't know what is! Then I heard about his dad, Johnny Parrak. Some people had the audacity to say Johnny was better than Jay. I think they are about the same. They are both great!!
I'm sitting here now listening to the Big and Live album here on RUclips. This album put the Kingsmen on the map. I remember hearing you all in person for the first time in September 1974 and my parents bought that album and nearly wore it out. I just heard Jim Hammill mentioning on that album that you had a new baby girl at that time and thinking wow, she'd have to be in her late 30s now! I was only 6 years old. Where has the last 4 decades gone?
What a Christmas present!!!! I never thought that I would hear Johnny Parrack sing again after The Kingsmen. Mr. Parrack, you are absolutely sensational. Thank you for sharing the gift that God has given to you for His Glory!! God Bless You and Merry Christmas, Gwen
Johnny, It would bless me so much if you would post more of your music. You have been a part of my christian life from early on, and I so enjoy listening, have just about worn out some of the older ones :). And every time I play one, it blesses me again. Thanks for being who you are, for Jesus.
@okebaram Thanks, I appreciate your comment. I hope we get to hear Johnny sing with angels when we all get to heaven. He's a special part of my christian life. I have listened to his voice since his early career, but have never had the privilege of meeting him. He has a special place on the other side, so maybe I'll get to knock on his mansion door!
@smackoverkid Sir, your vocality & ministry is awesome! "Minus-tenth tenor" is a joke lol, to express my awe at your exceptional range. There's no such word. But I figured a 2nd tenor can sing a somewhat high, a 1st tenor can get higher, so if we had to keep going in that order, we'll encounter a "0th tenor", then a "minus-1-tenor", then a "minus-2-tenor", etc and we won't find you until minus ten :). Okay, don't mind me. May God bless you and your loved ones! Merry Christmas.
@MrsKravitz4u1 I certainly know that he sings for God's glory and never doubted that when I watched any of his performances.I was just commenting on his range. And it is awesome that God has used and uses him as you have expressed.
@okebaram I just wanted to mention, sir, that you have overlooked what this music and Johnny Parrack is all about.....This man's voice has blessed the souls of thousands and brought the spirit of revival into countless worship services. I had a note from Johnny in which he pointed out that the music is not about himself, it's all about HIM. How beautiful is that? Oh, yes, Johnny mentioned these 2 songs were unrehearsed, he was not scheduled to sing, only to preach. Let it bless you.
I echo the others, thanks for posting these songs. Ive been a fan going back to the 'BIg and Live' days and watch the vids from the '95 NQC that are on YT. God bless you and your ministry!
Johnny, you filled my heart to overflowing, the love on your face as you sing is so moving. You must be incredibly proud of your son, Jay. I love to hear the both of you, and have listened to just about everything you have published here on youtube! You are a blessing to the children of the the Lord! Sing as long as you have breath, Johnny! God Bless!
@metanoeo1 If you were as old as Johnny, you might be a little rough yourself. I think his voice is incredible, the range is outstanding for a man his age. He is a Legend in his own lifetime, and his son is right behind him!
I do believe that Bro. Johnny would be the standing winner. But I would love to see it. When I was a kid I loved seeing Jay sing live with Gold City. When they would sing "I'm Not Giving Up", Jay would get so worked up. I love those memories
Such a beautiful voice! Johnny and Jay Parrack are the most beautiful tenors ever, love them both. So thankful for Jay following in Dad's footsteps, I know his Dad was so proud. God Bless, Jay.
I have loved listening and seeing Jay for a long time and had heard about his dad. Now I know why he is so good. WOW! Those notes and that beautiful voice are totally unbelievable!!! More, more, more!!!
Thank you for posting this song. It's good to hear Bro. Johnny still testifying to God's goodness and help after all these years. We used to hear him sing, preach and testify at Camp Achor, a Baptist camp meeting in Ypsilanti Michigan every summer for several years. I remember his wife and children came one year, as his youngest daughter (a red head) enjoyed pushing our baby in his stroller round the camp grounds (that baby is now 25).
Two of the best
The best there is!
🙏🏻🙌🏻 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Johnny e Jay Parrack... SOU UM GRANDE FÃ AQUI DO BRASIL! AMO AS MÚSICAS ENTOADAS POR JAY!!!
What voice still. He’s still the very best. That’s a God giving talent!❤️
You can see the pride in Jay’s reaction here.😘
Bro. Johnny, it's so good to hear you sing again! I wish you'd post some videos of your preaching
I would love to hear Johnny and Jay sing together. who would take the lower part?
ruclips.net/video/IL0ILDHCCsM/видео.html In this video Jay sings baritone while Johnny takes the tenor part!
Its fantastic to stumble upon Johnny here, because today I was watching a VHS tape from 1987 from camp ACHOR (campmeeting) in ipys, Mich. Johnny would play haty-sack with my kids!
Wonderful! What a sweet voice..

Okay a sustained F5 in CHEST voice not even mixed, by this tenor, even at his age... This is not a 1st tenor... this is a minus-tenth tenor!
I echo the others, thanks for posting these songs. Ive been a fan going back to the 'BIg and Live' days and watch the vids from the '95 NQC that are on YT. God bless you and your ministry!
@smackoverkid If Jay is your son, you must be Johnny?
Then I agree with Jim Hammel, you are the finest tenor I have ever heard
Johnny, you filled my heart to overflowing, the love on your face as you sing is so moving. You must be incredibly proud of your son, Jay. Johnny Parrack is the greatest tenor I have ever heard, and Jay is nearly as good, love to listen to both of them, and none of the others compare.
They should do Looking for a City together, Johnny vs. Jay parrack!! Now that would be fun to watch.
I do believe that Bro. Johnny would be the standing winner. But I would love to see it. When I was a kid I loved seeing Jay sing live with Gold City. When they would sing "I'm Not Giving Up", Jay would get so worked up. I love those memories
@smackoverkid Then you are Johnny Parrack, the best tenor I have ever heard, with the Kingsmen.
@smackoverkid Or Johnny Parrack? I am curious, cause you put jp.
@smackoverkid Are you Jay Parrack?
Such a beautiful voice! Johnny and Jay Parrack are the most beautiful tenors ever, love them both. So thankful for Jay following in Dad's footsteps, I know his Dad was so proud. God Bless, Jay.
I never really heard Johnny before, but man, he can crank that stuff out.
I have loved listening and seeing Jay for a long time and had heard about his dad. Now I know why he is so good. WOW! Those notes and that beautiful voice are totally unbelievable!!! More, more, more!!!

I love Johnny and Jay, but that was rough.
We need more by him!
He is the best tenor ever! i would love to see more videos of him recent
