A good tool for the job for sure. A pedestal thicknesser would also be a good addition if you had room for one. Sometimes you can get them as a 2 in 1 planer/thicknesser. I've subbed and enjoy your vids bud 👍

If you'll have to handle your logs a lot, getting a timberjack could be a great aid! Gives good leverage and keeps fingers and feet safer.

I haven't played with an erector set with that many parts since I was a child. Wonder if they assembled it before shipping to find any problems.

One recommendation I would give is to take a smaller "bite" with the router bit, then take another pass a bit deeper, repeat, etc. That will allow you more control and you should be able to get cleaner pockets. A bit too late, but if you find you need to cut more notches, you may have an easier time of it. Yes a good mix of hardwoods will bring in and sustain a much more diverse wildlife population. Many places in Canada the logging companies are changing the forest eco systems as they replant with only coniferous trees. Thanks for the video....

I always tell people during planning phase to always go big on their decks, its a living space and storage area, but I know you are limited to what you can do with this build. Its still a beautiful area and will bounce back in no time....Thanks for the video.

Yep, that will do it. I would be worried squirrels will eat 'em though. We planted about 600 wallnuts last fall (~8 in deep), this year maybe 150 came up (the remainder dug up by squirrels). Plan now is to freeze over the winter and plant again in spring. Using little flags to help avoid chopping with weedwackers and mowers.

Strongly suggest leather gloves, safety footwear, safety eyeglasses and hearing protection. You seem to be a long way from medical help. Thanks for posting though.
