And mostly of all, the athletes, who have toiled endlessly in the dark and had their moment to shine in the City of Lights and beyond. It was a privilege to witness it all.

      I only had one reservation at Musée de l'Orangerie on the 18th. But I was able to go pretty much everywhere they required it for the entire day at various locations (I was never turned away). I was originally wondering if they would only allow me into a certain area at a certain time, so it was nice that I had full access for the entire day. The pass has a date on it so I can't say whether I could use it again for another date. They scan it so if they programmed it by date then you might not be able to use it for multiple days. I do not have another QR code for another date and won't be going back to the Seine until the Opening Ceremony (and I have a ticket so won't need a QR code) so I won't know the answer to that first hand. Maybe someone else can chime in. I had my passport card (not actual passport, I have both types) on me for ID. They would check ID and then look at my face. So that was my experience. I think Driver's license should work just fine. Safe travels coming in.

    Ill be arriving at CDG July 25th and leaving via Orly the 28th. If my research is correct, my best options are basically either this pass or buying the 10x T+ combo tickets at 17 euros and have em loaded on to a navigo easy card. As you mentioned in other comments, it is possible to buy the 10x tickets right now (to avoid olympic price hike) and buy a physical navigo card on arrival at the airport for 2 euros, correct? That would allow me to get by during Olympics at "normal" prices, right? Just want to confirm wether I can buy the tickets right now and grab the physical card and charge it upon arrival on the airport. Lastly, considering that I would need transportation from CDG to hotel and hotel to Orly, which one would you recommend? The 10x bought beforehand or this pass for 4 days (which seems to be 52 euros if im not mistaken according to the website). Thanks!

      @frenchcrawl 3 месяца назад

      So if you're coming in on the 25th the prices of the carnet (10 x t+ tickets) is going to cost €32 at that point in person. The only way you can get the €17 for a ten pack is if you buy them before July 20th (at the normal price). I'm not sure if you can do that outside of France. You can try via the app, but I've heard people had difficulty doing that. Otherwise, if you know someone there who can get one for you beforehand then that's another way. Here's a guide for the app: parisbytrain.com/navigo-pass-iphone-app-android-app/ Also the t+ ticket is only for travel inside of Zone 1. If you need to go from one zone to another, the one way price is going to be €6 for an Origine-Destination ticket for all various zone to zone travel (Zones 1-5). Tickets from and to the airport are going to be €16 one way as well during that time frame (can't use a t+ for those since it's in a different zone). So if you think you can get the ten pack somehow at the €17, you just have to consider that your two tickets to and from the airports will cost €32. Not knowing your itinerary (if you're going to other zones etc for events or leisure), you just have to figure out how much traveling you're doing. If it's just within the city center, zone 1, then t+ tickets are just fine. You can load up to 30 tickets on an Easy Pass. At €52 for the Paris 2024 Pass for 4 days), you'll be able to get to and from CDG and Orly (€32 right there) and then anywhere else inside of Zones 1-5. CGD and Orly travel is included on the Paris 2024 Pass they said. The key really is having the ability to buy normal tickets before July 20th, airport tickets, outside zone travel, and then the convenience of what the Paris 2024 Pass offers. Hope that helps.

      @@frenchcrawl OMG Thank you for such detailed response! So to see if I got this right: If I go with 10x T tickets plus airports ticket bought separately since of course they are not within zone 1 im basically looking at a 49 euro total (17.35 euro for the T tickets assuming im able to grab em before July 20th plus 32 euro for transportation from CDG to hotel and hotel to Orly). If i go with the paris 2024 pass for 4 days im looking at a flat fee of 52 euros that includes the transportation I need from CDG to hotel and hotel to orly AND also unlimited transportation around paris on every single zone? If thats the case, for a 3 euro difference (49 vs 52) it seems like a no brainer to me and the 2024 pass is the absolute winner here, right? or am i missing something? Two last questions: 1) Just out of curiosity, are airport tickets also increasing during the olympics? Google maps seems to show the RER tickets at 11.80 EUR (CDG to Gare Du Nord station, close to my hotel). 2) The website for the 2024 pass does imply ticket coverage to both CDG and Orly, but it only says "to", not "from", any clue as to wether both ways are covered on both airports? Again, thank you so so much, this video as well as your reply is making my travel plans so much easier to understand.

      @@Poroto2107 I think getting the pass would be the easier solution for unlimited any zone travel for the three euro difference. Yes, the airport ticket prices are going up as well, hence the €16 price I quoted. As for the airport, I’m assuming it means you can go to and from. So both ways. Coming in from CDG and then leaving to Orly like you are. parisbytrain.com/paris-2024-travel-pass/ That’s how I read it. I’m hoping that’s the case.

    • @frenchcrawl
      @frenchcrawl 3 месяца назад

      That's a good question. From what I've understood, the Pass is tied directly to the reservation you requested it for. As for walking around freely once you're inside, I'd imagine you can until someone says otherwise? But I cannot confirm how that'll work with security and blocking of streets. As for using it aside from your reservation, I'm not sure. I think residents (and people staying temporarily) and workers have a different type of pass to have access for longer period of time. But people have said they had to request a pass for each individual activity. And at times they have combined the activities into one pass if they're within a period of time in the day. Otherwise, some things they've written are: parisjetaime.com/eng/article/paris-2024-games-practical-guide-district-by-district-a1706 "From 18 to 26 July 2024, in preparation for the Opening Ceremony, access to the banks of the Seine will be restricted. For everyone, a Games Pass is compulsory to access the grey area around the Seine. From 20 to 26 July 2024, there will be no river activities on the Seine. The upper and lower quays will gradually be closed to the general public, with access maintained for residents and establishments open to the public." And here: www.paris.fr/en/pages/moving-around-paris-during-the-olympic-games-get-your-games-pass-27063 "WARNING : Games Passes will not be granted if you simply need to cross a perimeter. This free and personal QR code will be your pass to getting through access points around these perimeters. Identity checks and bag searches will be operated by police and security forces. All individuals over 13 years of age must be acquire a Games Pass (even if they are in a vehicle). Reasons for access (residence, work, delivery, breakdown service, moving house, medical appointment, etc.) must be justified during registration and acquisition of a pass. A Games Pass can cover the entire Olympic and/or Paralympic period (for local residents, business professionals, delivery personnel, etc.) and can be used on a one-off basis for certain users (visitors, short stays)." If I hear anything else I'll follow up. I think we'll know more once people start accessing these areas with their passes starting on the 18th.

I understand t+ tickets includes RER from CDG or to Versailles? sorry TIA🥴

    • @frenchcrawl
      @frenchcrawl 3 месяца назад

      This is a good site to go over it as well: parisbytrain.com/paris-2024-travel-pass/ There will be no regular unlimited Day Pass July 20-September 8 - the day pass will be the Paris 2024 Pass for this time. Ok, so I'll try to explain the pricing during this time if you purchase while there. Olympic Pricing for regular tickets (July 20 - Sept 8) CDG with RER B to the City (€16 one way, €32 round trip) Versaille is in Zone 4 (will need Origine-Destination ticket €6 one way, €12 round trip) Montmartre is in Zone 1 (Regular t+ ticket €4 one way, €8 round trip) So t+ ticket will only cover Montmartre (Zone 1) and other places in central Paris. It will not cover Airport RER or Versaille. Those two require a more expensive ticket that I priced above. Paris 2024 Pass will include Zones 1-5 and CDG, so if you buy it you can use it from the airport to the city and back to the airport. And then to Versaille and back. And Montmartre will be ok of course. A 4 day Paris 2024 Pass will be €52 now or then. I know it can be confusing, but hope that helps. You can try to buy it on the app, but not sure if you can do it outside of France. Here is a site to help do that: parisbytrain.com/navigo-pass-iphone-app-android-app/ You can buy regular t+ tickets before July 20th and save money, but depending on when you go to Versaille, it might be better to do the Paris 2024 Pass to get the discounts with more days and airport included. Just depends on your itinerary.
