I would be curious to hear from a scout why Melendez didn’t go in the first round. One of the better college hitters I have seen in several years.
in a 162 game season he wouldve hit 90+ homeruns and over 200+ rbis
I believe I saw they think he has a long swing, average/below average D, and he isn’t 18 like some prospects when drafted. He definitely would get beat the most by high heat, most balls he crushes in the highlight reel are low in the zone, and pitches only get faster from college through the minors to the pros.
He would have gotten drafted higher if he wasn’t how old he was
With his age their is less development they can do with him
