I am 52. I was today years old when I found out about banned book week. I heard Lord of the Flies was on it, and could not understand why. WAY back in the haystack when I was in high school(class of 1987), it was required. I have not read it since, but remember thinking it was more of a guy book. I don't seem to be damaged, scarred or traumatized from it. I have never participated in cannibalism. I don't even recall that part of the story. I liked your video. It was informative and entertaining. I can tell you put effort into it. Hope you continue with it, you have a talent!

Anorexia in males is very invalidate in the world and it’s sad. Males go through the same societal pressures as females do both in the world and with other males. Males have eating disorders and it’s sad that they are only actual recognize when they are so close to dying

Thank you for this, it was fabulously and tastefully done. I have a sister who is severely anorexic (restricting subtype) and everything you depicted is everything I see her go through too. Anyway, I am writing a couple essays for a class about how eating disorders particularly affect men in comparison to women, both mentally and physically. I am going to write a rhetorical analysis essay on this video in particular! In one of my other essays I discussed how both genders have extremely common aspects of course, however many men generally feel the need to build muscle mass, whereas women feel the need to achieve thinness- and you represented that well symbolically with the advertisement of the muscular man and "what women want" quote as well as excessive exercising . Moreover, there is a lot more stigma surrounding men and seeking treatment so I was happy to see a man raise awareness to men, and loved your sources and statistics at the end about how treatment reduces death numbers. Anyway, your video perfectly executed everything I have learned and am expanding upon and I have so much empathy and appreciation for you to make such a powerful, yet vulnerable video that expressed so much about what it is like to deal with AN! My goal in my future is to be an ED specialist so having these educational yet emotional videos really help me learn more about an individual's experience.

THIS ONE IS AMAZING. I love this representation especially because the usual ones portray a girl living in almost a whimsical dreamlike state, sort of dissociated, anxious, but not really that intense. It may be like this for some people, but i related FAR more to this one. Poor body image extends to WAYY beyond just comparisons to a magazine cover or celebrities. Poor body image envelopes your entire mindset, so that you're hyper aware of everything you do, say, and eat. Anorexia is especially straightforward and harsh. Its a representation of the black and white thinking that comes with this DISEASE. It almost feels like there are dark voices and figures inside your head and in front of your face that morph your reality. You just pout in front of the mirror and lament-pinching, poking, hitting, cutting, crying, whatever. Many people really do not understand what it's like to both hate and fear yourself. Bravo to the film.

I don't want to assume sound rude or to upset anyone but I don't understand why guys struggle with this I need more of an explanation. I thought they would be obsessed with working out and being muscular. I can't speak for all girl but I know girls like any guy no matter what their body type is. But I don't think they would like a guy who's thin. Ik some girls want protection from their boyfriend and to feel safe, I don't think girls would want to protect their boyfriends. If I had a boyfriend who was skinner than me I would think it's a threat and I would try to lose 20 pounds. But if he was going through this I would try my best to help him and love himself not compete. Then we'd both die not trying...

On god I had one of these breakdown today. I’m sick, lacking sleep, but still pushed myself to workout and when I collapsed I started crying and felt like a failure and stared at the mirror pinching and grabbing my fat. This was so real it was scary
