Echo cs590 Suspension Springs changed, and modified, kinda sorta. Long story....
Thanks for the video I am replacing the same bushing
First thing I've done with each of the 590's that I own is switch to Tsumura bars. You get more common chain drive numbers (72)--making it easier to find proper chains, and better oiling.....Sold the old bars on Ebay for spares to folks and it didn't even cost all that much to upgrade.
@ThePracticalPatriot echo makes a 24inch bar that's 84 drivers (same as everyone else). I'll see if I can get the info.
@ Dunno what I'd do with that bar on my 590! I have a couple of 461's that run 36" bars if I need some "big guns"....don't use them very much honestly, we don't have so many big trees here where I live. Bought all my saws out of Pawn Shops...don't pay a whole lot for them. The Timberwolves were really cheap, see lots of them since Home Depot sold them for so long locally....Great saws.
@ThePracticalPatriot They are an over looked saw i think. Super easy to fox and they just work.
@@hollerwoodsman 60cc and a magnesium case, lots to like there. I've never paid more than $200 for one and that one was off Marketplace, new in the box. Bought one out of a pawnshop for $50-- guy had bought it and took it back, said it didn't run.....took it home and flushed out the old gas, new gas in, third pull she sputtered a bit, next one it fired and it's started on the second or third pull every time since....
It would be nice if we could hear you.
Now that's cherry...
@@raymondutter2616 It really makes a big difference between fill ups.
Your a clown mate
Why are manufacturers knowingly doing this i got a 18 inch stihl bar with a bigger hole than the 20 inch i have
@@jackmcminn2520 My guess is that smaller holes are cheaper than bigger holes.
Invaluable information @@hollerwoodsman
I ordered mine on November 20th…and haven’t received as of Christmas Eve…emailed last friday and got the “excuse” UPS is having a “problem” delivering to my address..never had a problem before…ruined my expectations this year..cancelled my subscription today..Merry Christmas Crap-pack
@michaelmckenzie9351 That sucks. I hope you get it.
Thanks for the review, mine should be here tomorrow. Looks like another bust of a month from Tacpack though. Not even a patch for Christmas. I agree that they seem to be focusing on the "plus" boxes and leaving us regular guys out in the wind.
I've been getting Tacpack for quite a while and this is the weakest Christmas box I've gotten
I just started a few months ago and got the top tier box and I was very disappointed. I got my Battle Box at the same time and I have to admit, Battle Box did much better this month. This was a very weak showing for Tacpack.
Good video. I'm kind of surprised they were very low in quantity this December.
@5.56Media I think the muzzle device was the Big ticket item. In my opinion I think they are moving away from the regular boxs, and more into plus box and special boxs.
@@hollerwoodsman Roger that.
@@hollerwoodsman I'm getting the plus boxes and it wasn't much better, A charging handle, end plate/castle nut and an Ambi safety selector switch. My Battle Box did much better this month. I'm hoping that the "Black Friday" box will be something to talk about.
I might try battle box again.
Was this your 1st video?
No, I've been trying to do better, though.
Hey man, did this fix the leak for your Echo CS-310 saw, or does it still leak like a sieve? Thanks!
@DistinctGamer_ no it still leaks. It's got more issues than that.
@ gotcha. My neighbor has one. Did a lot of research, apparently they just all leak unless you replace all seals or store it on its side. Seems to be an Echo thing
My bigger Echos don't leak. I'm thinking it's the oiling system on the smaller saws.
@@hollerwoodsman Probably right. Will advise my neighbor to store it on its side or empty it out when storing, otherwise, to put a rag under it and call it a day. Thanks!
Hello! Quick question. Can you attach a sawyer squeeze to the small mouth of the Capcap?
I'm not for sure. I don't think I have a sawyer squeeze.

I have never had an issue with the standard hole. Once in awhile the hole gets plugged. I am usually taken the bar or chain of at least every day and clean the hole during that time. I can see maybe opening it to the next numbered drill-bit size but any bigger is too much.
And seems like every light now has that strobe. I wish they would omit that. I get why some folks want that. But why not have it where you hold it for a second to turn off vs having to go through every step.
@@Airsoftforall i totally agree.
Get my plus box tomorrow, hopefully it has something redeeming in it compared to the basic disappointment.
They do have their ups and downs.

Where did you purchase the dog spikes?
@JesseRosas-r5r at my local echo dealer. That is a 620 clutch cover and spikes. The 590 cover is plastic and the spikes go to the studs, so it's a bit different.
Any issues with oiling? I’m looking at running this adapter on an old Mcculloch. Same bar mount as the Echo. Thanks
Thanks for watching. No issues at all.
Interesting vid! I just got a Shindaiwa 601sx (which I think is essentially the same as the echo CS-620). It does not need the decompression valve pushed in to start!
I have a decompression valve on the echo 620 that is stuck pushed in and the chainsaw will not start even after unflooding it by taking out the sparn plug and pulling the starter upside down allowing all gas to come out. I just got this chainsaw. Any advice?
I'd say pull it out (14mm, I think) and see if it's junked up or what's going on with it. If the saw is new, it should be under warranty 5 years for "homeowner." I'm not for sure why it's acting up. Unless it's broke off. Keep me posted on what you find.
@hollerwoodsman I figured it out. I had taken out the decompression valve and it looked brand new, zero gunk. So, I took out the spark plug unflooded it, again, and this time I did no choke and it started in one pull. Basically even after unflooding it, the choke would immediately flood it for whatever reason so no choke for the win in this case for me.
Sounds good. I'm glad you're up and going.
This junkie $63 kit did not come close to fitting my 620p Its slightly used so make an offer if interested and by all means contact red beard about fitment
Sounds more like a clogged vent cap?
@@craighanson2983 I did get a new cap later.
You need to speak up
@@brucelewis1017 I didn't have a microphone at that time.
Aren't the drive links different on the Stihl chain?
The number of drivers are different. That depends on the bar mostly. As far as I know the shape of the drivers are the same
24/25 27/28 It’s marketing. My “27” inch echo 620 is running a rs chain. Stihls “25” is everybody else’s 24” bar just like Echos “27” is everybody else’s 28” bar. 3/8 chain is highly common. That’s how they control the saws. Just match your 3 numbers. People running 24” + 325 chain had to make them. Dang near impossible to buy. Like oregons new bar naming system names. You can’t find this in a light bar, but this you can have all day and we’ll even throw in a chain! If you try to find the p# in a catalogue or online good luck with that and prepare for a migraine
Thanks man 💯 real life for sure lol
Thanks, I try and cut out the b.s. and just show what's up.
Awesome video thanks
Great vid do you have a link to the assembly kit in the bag presented there ? And what tools did you use ? I've got a Echo cs 590 we just bought from a pawnshop and it's leaking oil I've done and inspection and clean up so I know I've gotta change the oiler.
I miss milling. I used a stihl ms441c for 10 years milling, but it finally toasted out on me. It's so complicated to work on I wont tryin repair it. Hopefully in another year I can get me a new 462 or 500i.
There's lots of videos on rebuilding saws. For the most part, there are pretty simple. I would love to try out a 500i, but that's more saw than I probably need. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Yours was the first March 2024 TacPack vid I watched. I can dig the armorer's wrench ... also having an extra mag is always good. The rest ... meh. Good video. Thanks!
I agree. Next month will probably be better
You didn’t show how to drill that hole bigger… or at an angle. Just talk over and over about making the hole bigger. But how??!
Sorry about that, I get kinda excited when the camera is going. I used a 7/ 32-bit straight down. That size might work for you but might not. Just make sure that you don't take out too much and get into the rail. It's easier to drill more than to put back. I got a bar that I need to open up I'll try and make a better video on that one soon. Thanks for watching.
Well done video and explanation. I’m about to install the filter kit on my cs620 and this was quite helpful.
Thanks I'm trying
590’s are great saws, I have noticed that that springs wear though and squeak on the 590 & 620 I have both.
I wasn't able to find any after-market springs. I'm sure these will start squeeking again. I hope that the piece of hose helps limit some extra travel.
pretty weak box
You win some you lose some.
Hey cool video bro! I would recommend maybe getting a CAT style TQ. The RATS is good but if you're by yourself, more moving parts to use it and honestly does the job the CATS can, but is also more painful. If you have a PO box I can send you a SOF Gen5 CATS TQ. I stole a few of em from my supply cage and wouldn't mind sending you one to keep on hand when you're outdoors.
Thanks for watching. I'll check out the cat style. Never hurts to have more options.
@hollerwoodsman Do you have a PO box brother?
@2averagenoobs108 I don't at this time. Never really thought that anyone would send me something. Hahaha. I'll work on it and let you know.
@hollerwoodsman sounds good brother. Please let me know, I want you to be safe even tho I just came across your channel. I do like your content alot. Short, simple, and cool.
@2averagenoobs108 Thanks brother. Always great to hear words of encouragement. I appreciate it. Stay safe and I'll talk with you soon.
my dad si a echo cs 620p
Bought my wife a new Echo saw. She left me 10 minutes after using it. That has been 3 months ago. Word around town is a man with a Husqvarna 550 XP is dating her now. Be careful buying Echo stuff my friend.
She's not a Husqvarna fan... maybe a man with a 7310, though.... I'll keep an eye out. Hahaha
Nice video. Nice job God bless
Thank you
Try diluting your bar oil with vegetable oil. Flows better esp in winter
I run some winter blend when it gets cold. I've been running the bars with no issues with oiling for a bit now. I actually had to turn the oil down some.
Not a good idea, this oil doesn't stick on your chain, so it gets to hot and stretch during time.
That is definitely not a old school bar on that saw I have 6 of those saws and all have roller noise bars on them
I was thinking the chain was an old style. It's might be a green safety chain. I've not seen one before.
Nope it's not a safety chain for sure
Well, I'm at loss then.
Lmmfao
I'll bring my saws over and play if you want.
Sounds like a good time
Is this the normal tacpack or the plus?
It's the normal original one.
Nicee vidioss👍👍
👍👍👍👍
It appears to me that drilling a hole in front of and behind the original hole in the same diameter and grinding a slot of sorts would work best. Any wider top to bottom than the saw body slot just makes for possible leaks. I've done my bars that way for 40 years and have had good results.
That sounds good. But that world is more work, hahahaha.
This was fun!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
