Ingredients: For the Meat Sauce: 1 lb ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork) 1 medium onion, chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes 2 tbsp tomato paste 1 tbsp sugar 2 tsp dried basil 2 tsp dried oregano Salt and pepper to taste 1/4 cup red wine (optional) For the Cheese Mixture: 15 oz ricotta cheese 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese 1 egg 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional) Salt and pepper to taste Other: 9-12 lasagna noodles (depending on the size of your pan) Extra mozzarella for topping (about 1 cup) Directions: 1. Prepare the Meat Sauce: In a large pan, heat a little olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
