In plain English & without looking at a triangle, why is cosec A greater than cot A? I'm only learning...thanks!
Both cos and sin values always lie from 0 to 1, never greater than 1. Cot is obtained by multiplying cosec (reciprocal of sin value) by cos value. When you multiply any value by a number less than 1, it will always be low. Ex: 12 (0.1) = 1.2, 12 (0.99)= 11.88. Hence cot is always lower than cosec
@@RamakrishnanRukmini The answer in Mathematics Made Simple book is cosec A. Oddly, the 'which is greater cosec A or cot A?' question is put well before there is any mention of >1, <1 & 0 to infinity in relation to the six basic trigonometry functions. The question was put directly only after the naming of the six abbreviated six functions. Can the question be answered if you just know the lenght of all the sides? Thanks?
