Have not heard this piece in decades. Did it on a recital in the early 1970s and a couple of students performed it in the 80s. I always liked it and thought it should be done more often. This is a fine performance.

The Bassoon's name in the Italian is indeed interesting. The instrument is referred to as a Fag*ot, , Fa*goto or Fag*otti. These names roughly translate to "a bundle of sticks", as the Bassoon (in appearance), does bear a resemblance to such a thing. The tonguing technique utilized by the video's performer is quite astonishing.

Meeegaaa coool!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Meine Tochter (9 Jahre) lernt auch seit einem Jahr Fagott und sie liebt es! Wir sind immer mal wieder auf der Suche nach so richtig genialen Stücken. Das hier wird ihr sicher auch sehr gefallen (momentan spielt sie total gern Fluch der Karibik).

in this 2nd bar I have tried to transpose the playing of the same note on two different strings for a wind instrument. If the cello suites are sacrilege for you, you should not listen to any arrangements!
@@fagottmusik the Cello Suites themselves are sublime, but you botched it up in the 2nd by adding those C#s. They don't belong there at the first place.
@@chessematics Of course, my edition is only a suggestion. Some things you can't do with a wind instrument the way you can with a cello. how would you solve the problem of playing the same note in two different ways with a wind instrument?
