Every day, thousands of people interact with artworks by a Tsutakawa, one of the most prolific and influential artist families in the Pacific Northwest. The exhibit in the summer of 2024 explored the iconic and interconnected works of George Tsutakawa, Gerard Tsutakawa, and Kenzan Tsutakawa-Chinn. From public fountains, sculptures, and lighting displays to intimate pieces in private settings, the works of these three artists evoke harmony, movement, and presence with unifying themes of water, form, and light.

Theirs was a bohemian life, documenting Africa and the old way, before it is lost to the bastion of time. They did all of this before the Internet and digital age. True adventure and immersion into the unknown. I'm sure the stories they can cough up are endless. What an amazing life's work and passion. They may not have gotten the recognition of say a McCurry's Sharbat Gula...but their work goes far far deeper.. A true lifetime commitment.. Like Peter Beard on steroids.
I love Steve's work! He is a fantastic teacher too.
Beautiful, creative work... Unhelpful strained discourse. Tom said it all when you first asked him about his meaning... let the observer interpret it.

Listening to the artist , narrator and guests. The yellow boat may represent the family lineage . The boat has been in the sound as a work boat, ancestors, boat the artist's boat and probably will be the artist's daughters boat. The narrative follows the yellow boat. The yellow boat speak through time beyond single generations.
