What exactly was the point of this video? You didn’t show HOW to do it which is kinda the whole point of making a post like this.
thanks for your feedback
Feel like I need some explanation of what you are doing….
thanks for the comment. i will work on it in future videos
I like a mix of talking and music….half and half
Thank you for the feedback!
If you can weld it
Love it ! Nice music
Nice
How about 2000? Have one the won't start after overheated. Any suggestions?
if the no start condition only started after overheating, i would do a compression test. you may have caused an issue with the head gasket or head.
My friend your video for me rates 10 of 10, followed your procedure and worked for me the only difference was it seemed to be a sulfated contact on the switch. Just removed & restored the cable connector brushed it with a wire brush and the low beams turned on tnks for your help .....😊😊
I am glad i could help!
Love all of the details
Amazing
How people can work on equipment that has literally pounds of dirt covering it is beyond me !! the job takes twice as long just because you are constantly wiping dirt off your hands
not sure, it never really bothered me.
Most videos of fuel pressure test has a bleeder valve. Going to order one and wanted to know is is it absolutely necessary because it seems like yours doesn’t have one.
i guess you dont need a bleeder valve on the fuel pressure tester. you could bleed off pressure by just unscrewing it slowly.
Sweet ride. I have an 87 pickup with a bad fuel pump, so this helped me know what I am in for. Thanks for the video!
good luck on the fuel pump diagnostics and thanks for the comment!
Check/replace the shifter seat and bushings on the old transmission before you change it. They get old and disintegrate and cause shifting issues
great tip. thanks!
New camera is great.
Love the dog ❤
DexJeeps talks about the resister and why you might not need to use it.
i'll check it out
@myles2go. I think it makes it run quieter or something if you use it, been a while since I heard him mention it.
Did you know that your aluminum intake makes an excellent conductor for a ground ?
i had not considered that. thanks
Great video. I wish RUclips recommended this to more people. Very useful
Pulling any dash sucks, it comes down to just how bad.
i couldn't agree more.....
Like the string idea….
Did this procedure to my girlfriends '89 Pioneer a few years ago, as well as a number of other things. I've got to take out my electrics, but I'll wait for spring/summer to start some of it. Nice to see another Renix getting some love. Going to sub to follow as I'm curious as to what you all do. I just posted up a silent video from earlier this year when I did the bedlining and noise reduction to it, and in the description I put my materials list in it as well for reference.
Im glad you are keeping another renix jeep on the road. sound deadening is something ive recently gotten into. I am going to try out some new ideas and i'll make a video when i do. I am also going to try to test the sound decibel level to see if i can make any measurable progress.
I did this 7months ago and now have to do it again because the garbage rock auto aluminum core developed a leak that fast. Now its getting a copper/brass heater core and I will gladly sell the jeep before removing the dash ever again.
that's a bummer about the new rock auto one leaking so soon. I have heard that about the new aluminum ones.
Good stuff! Keep up the good work
thanks!
What color will you paint it ????
you will have to wait and see!
Just saw this and gotta say good Job on including. All the Lillttle extras it takes to make it happen! Better lighting could have been an option but other than that this is great! Definateky earned a 👍!
thanks, i appreciate the comment! every comment helps. I did actually end up getting a lot better lighting set up as well. it makes wrenching and filing much better quality. the newer videos should reflect that.
@myles2go. I'm getting ready to swap awd trans in my 96 lerado 5.2 so might ask ya for info if possible come the time
@myles2go. I'm not sure why many even do videos as they skip over key sruff and leave so it when I'm the simple stuff. I mean i get it if you don't take know maybe your shouldn't but sometimes things are confusing si just to clarify i think it's super helpful for those who are not real savvy. Again thx and Great Job! How's that thing moving now
@@albertmcclaren5571 it ran and drove great until i sold it. i am assuming it is still on the road diving great
They look so good but I would still use the washer machine !
I am about to do this same swap on my 81 K10 and wanted to verify that the front driveshaft worked and did not interfere with the slave cylinder?
i did not have any interference issues with my blazer on the front drive shaft. Keep in mind that my truck was lifted when i bought it so i cannot confirm what lift it had or how many inches it was lifted. I estimated around 4 inches based on the block that was used in the rear. If your truck is not lifted, i think you will have clearance issues.
@@myles2go. Hey man thanks for the response! My truck has a 4 inch suspension lift and I plan on running it that way. I am doing an LS swap with this NV3500 behind it. Transmission was free to me to so what the heck... My truck is a factory 4 speed pickup so it has the clutch pedal assembly (old style with Z bar) Did you fab up the Master Cylinder on firewall and fasten it to the clutch pedal by drilling a hole in the pedal? I have a 71 bronco I converted to hydro clutch and did it this way and it works great. I can get a hydro pedal assembly from a 85-87 pickup but it's pricey. Really I just need to know what Master cylinder to go with?
@@GarrettCockrill ok, great. Then you should be all good on slave clearance. For the pedal, i was in the same boat originally having a z bar style. At first, i used the pedal, slave and master from the 89 donor truck. i did have to drill a hole in the firewall and i also welded a plate to it to brace the firewall. I thought it might stress crack the fire wall after a few years if i didnt reinforce it. Then i just drilled some holes in the original k5 clutch pedal and mounted the donor 89 truck pedal directly to it. From there it was pretty much all 89 truck parts. I did have to make the clutch line out of some copper nickle break line from autozone since the clutch line for the 89 was on the wrong side and not long enough. After a couple years like that, i found a hydo pedal assembly in the junk yard for cheap, so i installed that. I was able to use the factory 86 or 87 chevy clutch master after that. It bolted right up to my home made clutch line and worked fine with the stock GM slave for the nv3500
Nice work so far….looking forward to seeing the finished job 🚗
thanks!
Your the man! Very sharp sir, cheers to the XJ FAMILY
thank you!
I think it looks sharp man, personally I think it would look cherry with blue interior.
thanks. i did actually do it with my other blazer with a blue interior. i'll post those videos soon
Cool, im looking forward to it. Im doing my own 86 k5 build so looking for inspiration.
I may be wrong but I think that's actually a 6.5 NA
i suppose it is possible this truck is a 1989 and i didnt think 6.5's were put in them at that time, but a previous owner may have swapped one in.
That looks really similar to my 6.5 diesel k5. Your truck is really nice
thank you!
So what wire am I splicing into? This video was so close to being helpful.
your comment was so close to being specific. if you are talking about the hookup for the tac, you dont splice into anything. it plugs directly into a terminal labeled "TAC" on the distributor if you have a HEI.
@@myles2go. watch your video. You say you splice into a wire. Looking at the comments I'm not the only one confused by that.
@@FINNIUSORION if you dont have HEI then splice into the negative terminal of your coil. mine was tan in this perticular truck
7:33 gmc topkick
That was so cool. I love the video and the music. I wonder if you could use that blow up tent thing for camping ??? How fun !
My folks had an '83 K-5 with the 6.2 diesel engine when I was a kid. It was blue with a white top very much like the other Blazer that was the throw in with the white one. It gave me chills seeing tha blue and white Blazer. Ours is long gone, rusted away after over 200,000 miles.
it is a bummer that rust got the best of your old blazer. unfortunately, that is what gets most of them!
Nice blazer, I have a very similar blazer with a 6.5
nice, i love the old blazers with the diesel engine
Wow that crack 😮 what would cause that.
these components wear out over time and i suspect that the rubber coating just got brittle and cracked over time. I dont think it was any sort of catastrophic event that cracked it but rather the normal heat and cold cycles over time.
So 😮we replaced the starter the battery the alternator and then it ran for 3 days. Yesterday I was out and it just cuts off. Would not start back up. Had it towed back to the house.
there is a couple things you will want to test for. Does the starter crank at all when you try to start it back up? If not, look into the neutral safety switch or the battery and starter connections/wires/grounds. If it does crank, you should look into the Crankshaft position sensor, camshaft sensor. If those are ok, i would look into fuel and spark
I AM A OLD 71 YEARS OLD GUY TELLING YOU TO KEEP THE RUNNING BOARDS / IT HELPS TO KEEP THE RUST ,STONES AND MUD DOWN / AND WHEN YOU GOT CRAP ON THE BOTTOM OF YOUR WORK BOOTS YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO SCRAPE THE DOG OR CAT $HIT OFF / SO YOU DO NOT BRING IT INTO THE TRUCK / AND WHEN YOU HAVE TO TAKE YOUR MOM OR POP (IF YOUR BLESSED TO STILL HAVE THEM ) TO THE DOCTORS OR ANYWHERE IT WILL BE E/Z FOR THEM TO GET IN AND OUT SO THEY DO NOT BREAK THERE NECK / NOW YOU CAN TELL ME TO GO FU@K MYSELF HA HA HA / I LIKE THE TRUCK BIG TIME , GOOD LUCK WITH IT / STAY OUT OF JAIL AND THE HOSPITAL AND SAY YOUR PAYERS AND TAKE YOUR VITAMINS AND DON'T GET OLD / IT SUCKS ! BIG TIME !! / KEEP THE FAITH , JESUS SAVES
i really appreciate the comment, sir. There arent many nice/useful comments on youtube these days, so it is always great to see one. I am a big fan of the running boards and i even put them back on after paint. The final video of the series should be posted in a couple days.
Can’t wait to see when it’s all painted !!!
Great video and info! Im thinking of doing this swap on my 84 K20 and getting rid of the SM465 and use a nv4500
i would highly recommend getting rid of the sm 465
Perfect explanation, great views. My '85 barn doors wouldn't open. You showed me how it works and I figured out how to open/fix it. Many thanks 👍👍
thank you and glad i could help.
resistance, vs. no resistance are you sure about your words?
I think iv seen your Amazon review where you bought a grill for the other truck.
i think i did write a review
Thanks for the information. It really helped me a lot.😊😊😊
I’m so glad I live in an era where I can find just about most of the information I need on RUclips and the internet. Anyways, my ‘95 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0 started developing a bad misfire at idle and a little loss of power, and once in a while the engine would just shut off while driving. I would wait a few minutes then it would start back up again. This recently started happening more frequently, until the other night it just died on the freeway. This time it would not start at all. Had to call AAA to get towed home. After much research and poking around I’m like 99% sure the coil went bad. Tested 12v constant on one wire and 10v on the other while cranking (this was before I came across this video). Gonna go pick up a new coil and hope for the best.
let me know if it solves your problem.
Look at that. I was looking forward to seeing it finished. Awesome !
thanks
