2024 Distinguished Alumnus of the Year Award Winner - Bill Morrow
Bill Morrow, CEO of Acumera and the Carlos Alvarez College of Business Distinguished Alumnus for 2024, shares his journey from corporate roles to building successful companies. In this video, Morrow highlights his passion for leadership, raising nearly a billion dollars in capital, and growing his current company tenfold in four and a half years. Congratulations! I finish my degree in the fall!
I have never had such a lovely interaction anywhere, ever and I mean it. I went grocery shopping at the H‑E‑B plus on 281/Evans with my mother. I have seen the stand many times, but never thought to grab a coffee for some reason. I was greeted by Crystal who I later found out is the owner. We got 2 café lattes with sugar-free Irish cream. I want to mention that they have a very good selection of sugar free options. While Crystal was fresh brewing our espresso she was very friendly and talkative, almost like we’ve known each other for years. The coffee was excellent and wasn’t overshadowed by the milk or the sweetener. You could actually taste the coffee and could tell she was using quality products. She has her little shop front decorated so cute! You can tell that Crystal takes a lot of pride in her small business, as well as the products that she’s pushing out. I believe she has coffee shops in other HEB‘s but I’m not sure which ones exactly. I love supporting local, as well as small business but the cherry on top is that it’s also woman owned. I will always visit her stand when I go to the store and I recommend you give her a chance too! 10/10 would recommend so much so that I actually created a yelp account for her coffee shop since one had not been created.
