I miss you elizaaaaaaa hope you are doing well!
Favorite cast off that is actually stretchy? I have yet to find one so only do cuff down
Instant follow. This is so CUTE, are you kidding me
For raglan style anything I highly recommend watching MJ Off The Hook, the way she explains raglan is just so wonderful to my brain, maybe it will be for yours too! Cheers and much love, watching you learn to crochet from being a knitter is super fun to me because I am a crocheter learning to knit and knitting feels so much harder to my brain, I think whatever we learn first feels easier! <3 -S. <3
"The girl need mental stimulation" Exactly! :D
I couldn't stay cos of the constant music but great stash 😢
I think you should worry more about microplastics instead of making vegan socks tbh. There is wool which comes from ethically held sheep. They have to be shaved every year (otherwise they overheat) so it's as environmentally friendly and ethical as it gets. On the contrary, nylon in socks creates a lot of microplastics and it pollutes everyone's environment - not just the animals' environment. It's in our water, you breathe it in via shedding of your clothes and the list goes on.
Loved the roundup, my faves list is so long now (a good thing). I'm knitting a knocker, but I'm excited to cast on one of these patterns that you've shared 💖
I only knit toe up taat socks.
if i wanted to expose my face insted of just the eyes how many stiches do you think i should go up to
I just finished the Warm Feet for Everybody socks. It's a decently well written pattern and had a large size range. I personally will not be making this pattern again for a few reasons. I found a few mistakes throughout. Some of the stitch counts were off as well as the amount of repeats required. I was able to figure it out but it may not be beginner friendly. The biggest reason i won't be making this pattern again is the toe, the pattern pictures dont show it but the toe is a more "rounded" fit. I find there to be too much room in the toe of my sock and it's not tapered enough to be fitted right. However if you find the toe of traditional sock patterns to be too narrow, this is the pattern for you. As far as yarn goes, I made this pair in CoBaSi Tonal sock and LOVED how it worked up. I got it from a website called Sheepless Yarns (a fantastic option for vegan knitters) and they had a ton of other options for sock yarn. The CoBaSi is Cotton, Bamboo, and Silk creating a very durable yarn. However, due to the composition of the yarn, it's very prone to splitting and can be frustrating at times. Each material is spun into it's own ply. The three are then plied together to create the yarn. It was very common for my yarn to split. CoBaSi has some other wonderful options though. And definitely check out Sheepless Yarns!
What are you talking about!!??? I’m a complete beginner and I have NO clue what you’re talking about lol. Thanks tho.
Love the smiliey's ! 😁😁😁😁😁
Great work
I love the brioche bow-larow! I couldn’t find a link to the pattern, did the creator ever post it anywhere?
This Handmade Life has a bunch of really pretty sock patterns!
No I didn‘t went because I‘m german lol😅 and there‘s never been a yarn crawl where I live but it sounds so cool!
Love your soft pink sweater!❤
eeks! so excited to see your video :) it was my first year attending, and it definitely won't be my last. noma knits was the shop i was most impressed by. small but mighty! i hadn't been to fiber circle studio but wow, such a cool vibe in there and it's so nice to see a shop that does classes. cast away, i mean... no words!
I was out of town this year so it was fun to get a little taste of the yarn hop in this video :)
I need the Rick O wrap sweater…. So insanely cool
Hey Eliza, can you do an update yarn stash video?
So glad to see this series return!!!
Hi Eliza, great to see you back with your sock knitting :) I too have knitted the Riverbed pattern and enjoyed it but I got to the same point as you and stopped too 😂 Maybe its needing to have a break after all those pattern repeats!
we're so back! ur vids are what got me into sock knitting
Love your videos!!! 😊
I'm taking a break from knitting this week to rest my hands. Big mistake watching a video with so many cute patterns! 💀
Glad you are back! You gave us enough inspiration in your previous videos to keep us busy knitting socks! I am anxious to knit this pair but I will use fingering weight and light speckled yarn. Next month, I will purchase Vol. II of 52 Weeks of Socks. Today, I am starting Stephen Wests 2024 Mystery Sock Along. Clue 1 is here!
Ughh love your videos. I never skip one ❤
Yes to the lilac tweed with white flowers for the six of daisy! I'm gonna do the green aran tweed from isager with white/lilac flowers 😆 i still haven't decided if i'm making the sweater or cardigan yet (also have yet to buy the pattern haha) but we could do a buddy knit to motivate each other finishing it 🤣
omg we should def do a buddy knit!
I like your original idea for the six of daisies. It’s pretty chill still and could be a toned down pop of colour
Ok hear me out: I live in a landlocked state and I LOVE my lime skirt and wear it all the time. I think that for some reason sheer clothing makes peoples styling brains turn off. This seemingly frivolous project has unlocked something within me. So generally I wear it over bike shorts or a workout onesie. Recently, I've worn it with my black lululemon capris from middle school that, imo, is a fun take on the black capris trend right now. It looks good with small top: baby tee, cropped blazer, fitted cropped longsleeve, etc. It looks good with big top: oversized mens button up, oversized leather bomber, oversized t shirt, and i bet your oversized sweater would work. I made mine in bc garn allino in light brown. The barber pole light brown tan combo gives very mermaid caught in a fishnet vibes. Can't recommend the yarn though because its off gauge and took a lot of finessing the pattern to get right. I think a neutral color like black is a great idea. I think that the orange pants will be similarly successful. havent made them though
over bike shorts is a cute idea too! i just cast on the wave sweater and you've convinced me that the lime skirt will be my cast on after that! also love the "mermaid caught in a fishnet vibes" haha
I read a book called fibershed years ago before I learned how to knit and I think the whole concept is SO interesting! That’s one of the main things that got me into knitting and I hope that one day I can afford to buy nice locally grown and milled wool yarn that would make me so happy but I feel like I’m not there yet with my skills
I believe she divides by 6 so the amount of stitches that will become the back and front can be twice as long as the stitches that become the sleeves. so if you were to use 108 chains, divide that by 6, your sleeves would be 18 chains each. then you multiply 18 by 2 and get the amount of chains for the front and back, which is 36 chains total, 34 plain stitches + 2 raglan stitches.
You did a beautiful sweater. Everyone's math is different. When I used to just see how sweater math was years back I noticed this. And you can use what you know with knitting raglan math in crochet as well too. I have done so but try watching Benjamin krudwig textile and design crochet sweater tutorial. I remember his math was simple and easy to understand and when I started knitting I did a lot of random exploring and found his math simple enough. Even though I am barely diving into knitted sweaters I do remember his videos.
👍🏼
I have a tip for you if your tension is tight and foundation chains are hard to work into! Use a bigger hook when making the chains. I usually go 1 or 2 hook sizes up. It is relatively looser
It can be really helpful to do your initial chain with a hook size bigger than what you're going to use for the project so it won't be too tight.
People can read while they’re knitting??? Literally how 😭 I’m knitting the mood sweater but in the style of sweater no 14 👍
P.s. your top turned out cute - nice work! Also, If you turn your work each row, you don’t get that jagged seam down the back
ABoC Studio has raglan tutorials that are WAY less confusing (look for them on YT)! The math - I felt so bad for you watching this video :(
I love it!!! ❤Great job!
Show more of the ca 9:49 rdigan😢
As a middle school crochet teacher this video is painful to watch 😭😭😂😂😭😭 I’m internally screaming answers to all of your questions lmao. Finished product is awesome congrats 🎊
Wait crochet teacher?! Is it like home ed? That sounds so fun🤯
@@Brookicooki4eva it is fun!! And no I just teach crochet 😃😃 it’s magical especially seeing middle school boys getting into it 🥹
a tip for chain tension: size up your hook .5mm-1mm and then switch to a smaller hook for the actual crochet
as a crocheter who learned knitting bc of your channel, im so happy about this video
its so interesting to see knitters struggle with crochet bcs to me, crocheting is 1000x easier than knitting, knitting is so hard for me
I also learned knitting first and crochet is so difficult to me??😂
@@manonvo8615 im the total opposite! i cant even hold the knitting needles right 😂😂
As a seasoned crocheter seeing the little bits of the video you're watching it seems confusing. There are definitely more simpler tutorials out there, I've never even seen anyone measure their head for the sweater sizing!
you totally were doing a double crochet correctly, be careful because there is UK and US terms and i think double crochet is a different stitch in UK terms! you’re doing a great job, it’s hard to learn, stay patient with yourself ❤️❤️
i’m pretty sure made in the moment has a great crochet raglan tutorial that i’ve used, maybe that will help :)
You can actually go back and add some type of ribbing/edging to the neckline
