I've been singing for years and just recently I was able to nail this song on expert. The trick is to stand up straight and sing loud. Non-falsetto notes are so much easier to sing loud, but that aside, this is my favorite song to sing in Rock Band.

I love modest mouse, and i hear this song in commercials all the time and i never knew that it was by modest mouse

@xKiR3Dx You were in falsetto for the chorus notes which is basically where range counts in this song, Layne's using Head voice for those notes which is why he sounds so full and powerful.

@Arkturasbalboa i dont even think i sang falsetto on this song... its a high range for my voice. plus if i did, which i cant remember if i did, its why i left the original singer on.

@xKiR3Dx That's a common misconception with people, there's no reason why you wouldn't have a good voice given lessons and proper vocal approach. It's not so much the way you sound it's the fact that the vocals aren't falsetto. Vocals are an instrument just like any other.

@Arkturasbalboa if you would read the posts up top, you would know i dont think i sound good. i am too nasal sounding. i dont have a good voice. lessons would do me no good. im only a rock band/shower singer. thanks for the advice tho.

@xKiR3Dx If you take your Rock band vocals seriously that's ok, if you mean REAL vocals then I'd suggest you get lessons. Learn what head voice is, singing the highs in falsetto would get you booed off of a stage in no time.
