How do you presume the results would look if the service learning the participants completed was less than a week in length?

I think the results would look very similar! We decided to use week-long experiences in our definition to have a more specific and defined group of participants, but I think that service, no matter what the duration, can promote many positive results similar to those we found through our interviews.

This Poster was very interesting, and I think that every OT student must go through some kind of International Service Experiences because those experiences alone will open very different points of view and will make every OT Student an expert on "adaptability" of services and equipment according to the patient's very particular needs and expectations based on their backgrounds. Very good poster.!!!!

Do any of you have personal experiences with service-learning experiences? If so, did your major take-away line up with the participants of your study?

Hello! I was fortunate enough to take part in 3 different SLEs during my time at Naz - one domestic and two international. My major takeaways definitely lined up with a lot of the themes we found from our interviews - most notably for me feelings of empathy and a deeper understanding of privilege and occupational justice. From my own experiences, I feel like I have really grown as a person and as a future clinician and would definitely recommend taking part in these experiences to anyone who is able to!
