А какой смысл от таких сложностей??? Делаем обыкновенную петлю на шнуре. И по принципу удавки одеваем на вертлюг. Все. Вяжется за три движения, 2-3 сек. Надёжней узла просто не существует. и развязать можно в случае необходимости.

Nicely done, clear and simple. But almost none of the many knot tying videos explain the intended use of the knot.

Video is way too fast and the knot comes loose very easily with bigger loops in my experience

Will this work with a board, or does it have to be cylindrical, like a pipe? I needed to carry a 16' 2x6 I'm my Ford Ranger. I had to put one end overhanging my cab, the other hanging off the tailgate at an angle. I don't remember how I secured it, but I wondered afterward if a pipe hitch would have been better.

Yes, the second is a constrictor tied in the hand; I use this all the time when you can throw the knot over the end. Both are in Ashley's, along with a few more that are slightly trickier to tie but very effective with string -- you won't be tying many sacks with standard paracord. (Although I do often use microcord for this application.)

Pretty sure that second one is the standard constrictor knot, but I didn't know it could be tied that way. Very interesting.

If these applications could be combing with The Ashley Book of Knots to produce a modern revision, it would be terrific.
