Thank you for the video. I have two questions. When calculating the vertical stress, are the top and bottom TVDs from the density log or where do the logs begin? And the second is how you can estimate areas of overpressure from the curves previously made.
Its basically top and bottom TVD from where log starts (usualy from surface till TD) To onserve overpressure you have to draw trendline on sonic(if using eaton method) or deep resistivity (bowers method). Then look for the part which is above NCT (normal compaction trendline) that is usually where you get overpressure. To be more accurate you have to calibrate it with pressures from DST or any mudgain or any kick in well.
@ the geoscientist each time i draw trend line on DT it does not stay, once i drag the trend line to the bottom and double click, it leaves again, am using 2015 techlog
@@majorskillz7589 Start trendline and add 2-3 nodes before the last point where you double click. Hope this will work. Also please check input parameters for trend line. It should be showing “create new” in input tab . If nothing works try turning off and restatring techlog. Letme know if it works or not.
@the geoscientist-TG please do you have a video on fracture gradient prediction
ruclips.net/video/F0wdiu31yf8/видео.htmlsi=5XcJDoDS8GB7p3hH Watch this one .
@@TheGeoscientist-TG OK Thank you sir
do you have a video on how to estimate fracture gradient and how to add up all the logs to get the pore pressure and fracture pressure for a particular field
@@majorskillz7589 Hi. Its very simple you just have to merge similar logs. For example if you have GR log for 2 different section just select both logs and press right click. You will get merge option For frac gradient there is quick method which require pore pressure and poissons ratio While for detailed method you have to run complete 1D MEM modeling. And at the end you get MEM curves. Loss curve is basically frac gradient. You need LOT or XLOT data , mud loss information to calibrate that curve. I have explained that in the last video of this series
@@TheGeoscientist-TG please can you do a video on these please
Each i drag and drop either my sonic data or bulk density is not entering, it shows the variable was not correctly resampled into the dataset, please help me
@@majorskillz7589 Check the sampling rate of your dataset. Then resample your density and sonic as per your dataset sampling.
Thanks for the support
Thanks for the support!!
I tried to calculate the overburden but there an error, there is a massage (the well does not contain any data set), Do i have to do a TVD and tops computer first?
@@majorskillz7589 yes first step is the TVD computation, then import tops.
V nice
@@ImmiHadi Thankyou ❤️
Very informative, but if I have an offshore well what can I do
@@almuntasirbellahkhalid4483 you can do the same procedure. But during TVD computation and vertical stree computation you have to define water column depth.
Please can you share well dataset?
You can download from the following link www.geo.mtu.edu/svl/download/pioneer/
Good and very informative video. Need some more such videos
Glad you find it helpful ☺️ Planning on some more videos ☺️
I tried to calculate the overburden but there an error, there is a massage (the well does not contain any data set) what is the reason?
1) Please check whether you have done TVD computations or not ? 2 Also please check the family of Density log. Is it assigned or not. 3) While initiating overburden workflow did you select the dataset from the well or not ? Letme know if this works
can i get the dataset for learning
You can download from the following link www.geo.mtu.edu/svl/download/pioneer/
It is very informative and appreciated. Please add more videos on techlog
Thankyou for your kind words. Yes few things are in pipeline ☺️
Hats off for the information, i ve question, what if we don't have shear sonic, than how we will calculate the elastic properties. Thanks
@@faisalbangash8582 you can estimate shear sonic for shear velocity. If you sont have shear velocity, then use simple compressional sonic and you can estimate shear sonic from it easily ☺️
@TheGeoscientist-TG God bless you,
great work❤❤❤
@@forhighgardenweroargot1809 Thankyou for your kind words ☺️
Please, I don't have mud weight and equivalent circulating density. What should I do? I can't complete the work of wellbore stability
Please, help me
@@AloshJood Hi. You are doing pre drill MEM or post drill ? If its post drill, do you have well reports, Master/Mud log ?
@@TheGeoscientist-TG thankyou so much
Anyone have Techlog 2015 cracked version
@@heshamnaeem5672 Hi just google it you will find some good websites with crack version avalaible. Try www.pesktop.com
Lovely lecture, but I have question, what if we don't have density log in upper section of well? As you know limited data is usually acquired in non reservoir section. Could you us how to generate density log from sonic compressional. Thanks in advance.
@@faisalbangash8582 Hi thanks for appreciation If you donot have density log or have bad density due to bad hole, you can use following equation to generate synthetic density log from sonic Density = 0.235 x Vp^0.25 Vp = 1/ Dt Vp : Pwave velocity (ft/micro sec) Dt : Compressional Sonic
Very informative sir
Hats off dear and appreciate your efforts. Secondly, how about making a tutorial about Elan.
@@faisalbangash8582 Thankyou for your appreciation. Sure soon i will upload tutorial regarding elan
very informative
Hello I have a video ready for you. I am gonna try to make more videos.
We really wait your next videos , hope you are doing well .
Hi. Thanks for asking. Soon will upload new stuff. Bit stuck nowdays with office tasks
@@TheGeoscientist-TG Great to hear that , we ar waiting bro .
Thank you. when I choose the bowers method, I can only get a part of pore pressure, not the whole well depth. How could I solve it?
@@johnnypappas-y7m did you choose all formation tops from zonation tab ? And also did you make the trend line for whole well ?
@@johnnypappas-y7m Also check top log tvd and bottom log tvd in the first step where you calculate Vertical / Overburden stress.
@@TheGeoscientist-TG sorry sir, there are some sections in the middle of the well that have no results. Is this possibly related to the Bowers' parameters, or should I use effective stress instead of overburden pressure?
@@johnnypappas-y7m yes might be. Are these intervals non- shaly ? Check the interpolation method in parameters section. For non-shaly formation use global interpolation . I hope this will solve the issue
Could you pls make video on rock typing and saturstion height modelling using techlog❤
Hello I would like to contribute and upload videos in your channels. I have worked in core analysis now I'm learning techlog and analyzing logs. I would like to share what I've learnt by now and also continue to improve
Sure thing . Please share your videos at following email the.geoscience.group@gmail.com Cheers 🙂

Great work sir 🥰 make tutorials for Seismic Interpretation and different attribute analysis workflow on petrel software as well for young Geophysicists like me.............
@hanzalah57 once i am done with basic techlog functionalities, then next on the list is Petrel and Kingdom 🙂
AOA how to get TechLog 2022 ...? regards
@alluvium10 you can get license version from schlumberger. While for pirates version i guess only 2019 is avalaible on different torrent sites. 2019 and 2022 works almost same.
@@TheGeoscientist-TG sir kindly suggest any web link for 2019 techlog...regards and weighting for ur upcoming videos,,,, great work.... 👍👍👍
Thank you for your sharing.. Would you please make a tutorial for make analysis of rock typing and saturation height function with Techlog? And please raise up your voice louder sir
@garudakid . Sure i will
thank you Sir, I would like to know how to calibrate the model using LOT points?
Hi LOT or XLOT (extended LOT) is basically direct value of minimum horizontal stress. You can adjust your epsilon min (Ehmin) value in parameters tab to the point where your resultant value matches with your LOT or XLOT. Epsilon min and max values are 0.001 by default in TechLog
@@lofer5544 Understood, we just have to adjust the values of Epsilon to calibrate the model. thank you very much
One more thing. During LOT when your ltrend of pressure starts to deviate from linear trend and shows a drop. That point is FIP ( Fracture initiation pressure). You stop pumping fluid at that time and let it drop to the point where well get static. That is the point where you minimum horizontal stress has closed the fracture. That is the value of actual Shmin or frac gradient. You can repeat this lot for two to three cycles (xlot) and later on plot on graph to get exact shmin value.
@@TheGeoscientist-TG thanks a Lot Sir this is really helpful
Sir , Can we do this in Techlog 2019 version ??
Yes we can do it. If you need any help for workflow let me know 🙂
