Good review. I traveled this month with Finnair in premium economy between Helsinki and Tokyo for the outward and return journey and I was very disappointed especially on the return journey by the quality of the food served, especially the starter, the dessert for the main meal but also by the breakfast for the return flight. Even if the seat was ok, I think that next time I will prefer an Asian company to return to Asia in premium economy

It’s disappointing to hear that the quality of the food on your Finnair flight didn’t meet expectations, especially in premium economy where you’d hope for a better experience. I can understand why the food, particularly the starter, dessert, and breakfast, left you feeling unsatisfied. The seat comfort is important, but the overall in-flight experience, including meals, can really make or break a journey. I’ve heard similar feedback about the consistency of service on different routes. Trying an Asian airline for your next trip sounds like a good idea-they often have a strong reputation for both service and catering in premium economy. I hope your future travels are much more enjoyable!

Finnair's direct flight used to be about 8,000 km, but now when you go around Ukraine because of the war, the distance will be 10,000 km.

Thanks for detailed report! I agree, Finnair has a nice long-haul product, often a very good price-quality ratio. And I love the non-Schengen terminal at HEL. I've flown Finnair to BKK several times, also to Phuket and Krabi (axed route). Thailand is an important market for Finnair in winter especially, next winter season they serve BKK 2x daily and Phuket 5x weekly. Luckily the closed RUS airspace effects Finnair's Thailand flights less than some of their other flights to Asia.

@@sheyh22 the lounge is super worth it 😍 that time it was around 80€ per head - should be booked before the flight but if you a member then its free maximum of 3hours. They have other lounge but it's in Schengen area.
