Wirklich wunderbar gesungen. Warum hat sie denn eigentlich ihre Stimme verloren? Allerdings bei den Spitzentönen tat sie mir etwas leid.

To be frank she is not exactly my cup of tea in this repertoire simply because I find her voice a bit too driven, being monochromatic and lacking suppleness, yet, I must admit that her rendition is extremely moving and shows the depth of her artistry. Perhaps the fact that I still have the tone of Ruth Ann in my ears influences my judgement. When I listen to Dessay, I hear more Marie and Zerbinetta. Question de goût, I presume.
Ich mag die etlichen Aufnahmen, die ich habe, nicht gegeneinander ausspielen, die Aufnahme mit der ätherischen Lina Pagliughi?, dass der wunderbare Ferruccio Tagliavini eine eigene Ehrung verdient, sollte unumstritten sein!

Natalie Possui o sol soperagudo e consegue fazer filiado com a nota altíssima.

Look at the overworked neck muscles and the constant tensions in her shoulders, lips and jaw. She destroyed her voice.
You are absolutely right. All this tension to produce a very thin, weak and squeaky voice. With a proper, relaxed and healthy vocal technique her voice would have been completely different. She was very lucky that people don’t know what good operatic singing is any more and managed to have an international career like she had singing so badly.

I don't think she is very suitable for Bellini's piece. It is not very enjoyable. Her throat is tired, the tone have no beauty whatsoever. NO GOOD

Credo che al di fuori di Catania , patria del Cigno, siano in pochissimi a sapere che l'incipit di quest'aria è scolpita sul monumento tombale di Bellini, all'interno della Cattedrale di Catania ove riposano le spoglie di Vincenzo Bellini.

Tullio Pane, e pochi sanno che questa scena andrebbe cantata con ben altra voce e che la cabaletta non l'ha composta Offenbach. Purtroppo sulla lapide dovevano scriverci anche "per poche". Bellini e' complicato e sicuramente Amina e' il personaggio da cantare piu' difficile.

Have to say that, only Callas and Caballé could do this role, before them...I don't have a record that support it. But in any case, I do appreciate her effort, but that's it.
