One of the things I've come to appreciate about the Dark Knight trilogy as I've gotten older is the focus on Bruce Wayne over Batman. In a market that's, at this point, oversaturated with superheroes, it's hard to keep people invested. As I've watched the DCEU die and the MCU flail around like a dying fish, I've come to a realization. Their focus has shifted from the person to the hero. But a character is nothing without things to motivate them. They are nothing without flaws and hardships and failures just as big as their successes. Batman is famous for his "no killing" rule, but this Bruce Wayne was ready and going to kill Joe Chill, the man who murdered his parents. It gets taken from him, not because he stops himself, but because someone else did it first. This is a Batman who still has the impulse to kill, but keeps himself in check because he later comes to realize that killing Joe Chill wouldn't have made him feel better. Second, giving Bruce Wayne chiroptophobia (fear of bats) was genius. He's not just some rich guy who dresses up as a bat because it's a creature of the night, but a man that wants to turn fear into a strength. He inflicts this fear on people who actually deserve to be afraid. The Dark Knight is not a superhero movie. It doesn't have flashy over-the-top villains or outlandish circumstances. It's a crime drama featuring a superhero while being grounded in reality.

If Peaky Blinders had a trailer depicting the entire series in one single video then this one should be released worldwide.
