Aside from the sealed diff (and there are aftermarket options for the stock Traxxas trans), there's nothing better about the ProLine trans than the Traxxas trans. They're both the same gear ration, and all steel gears. The only other advantage is the aluminum motor plate, and you can get that with the much cheaper RPM trans case.

@@Guitardrumr I have the rpm on my slash only for the adjustable toe pieces but the proline is based off of the associated diff amd clutch system witch is by far better then the Traxxas trans. If you are racing witch he is you don't want still gears because a heavier rotating mass. You are not putting that much stress especially is sc street stock with a 13.5 or 10.5 to need metal gears. For racing the proline transmission mission is a better design then the basher slash transmission

@@jeffbryner5355 You realize you're contradicting yourself, right? The Proline trans has the same metal gears, and gear ratio, as the stock Traxxas trans. Only difference is the sealed diff. And you can convert the stock trans to a different slipper setup.

Oh I'm sorry the diff looks nylon atleast where the are black area is. With that said it's still an associated design as far as the internals of the diff goes and the way the slipper clutch is set up. Even has the octolock spur like associated has. No way in hell I would blow a 130 trans mission up to put in a stock trans to go racing lol that diff and slipper alone will be a better design then any stock diff sealed up or not. The hot racing stell diff is garbage and its still 40 bucks. Doesn't seal for nothing.

@@jeffbryner5355 Plastic body, metal ring gear. Same as the stock Traxxas unit. The Proline diff does use spider gears rather than straight cut gears. The Hot Racing isn't the only other diff available for the stock trans setup, though I don't remember who makes the other. And I have a suspicion that the HR one could be made to seal properly with some thread lock on the screw threads, but I haven't had a chance to get hands on with one yet.

Pretty sure he was referring to that motor as good for what he runs because it’s a “stock Slash” specific class. Actual seems very fun when all racers are limited to the same set up.

@@JFlyer1973 yeah it is but it's the most expensive and the hardest to do. People are getting those titan motors tuned and some are. You think your on a even playing field but your not really

Indoor is the way to go. I hate out door tracks. You have to deal with changing track conditions hot/cold weather windy conditions. Sun blinding u as it sets. U can't race when it's raining snowing or super cold outside. I race in a indoor high bite banked oval. I love it. Plus there is a hobby shop and actual restrooms. No Porta potties lol
