I cover five places where it is easy to go wrong, as follows: 1. soil (media) mixture: pick the correct mix for your plant 2. pot size: select the correct pot size for your plant 3. root disturbance: remove circling roots before tra...

    I’m heading out next year in my Honda Fit and a Springbar hot tent, with a Doberman and two cats. It’s really nice to see people working with what they have and just getting out there however they can. I think the van life trend has convinced us that you need a big expensive rig to live life on the road, but the opposite is true. The point is experiencing life at the expense of some modern comforts. That’s my opinion at least.

    Awesome, inspirational stuff. 2010 Prius owner here, always dreamed about doing what you did. Felt similar after Covid and still kind of do. Also am a homebody by nauture with semi regular and wistful thoughts of travelling and living in my car. This resonates with me and was presented in a very nice way. Happy to subscribe.

      @momovomo Месяц назад

      I am forgetting exactly what I did for the back tint but I think it was between 15 and 30% (I think 30% probably?). I did not do the front because I was traveling all over and tint laws vary alot around the country, so I didnt want any extra reason to be pulled over/look suspicious. Glad the video was helpful :)

    I LOVE this so much and I'm so happy I stumbled across this video. I have a 2005 Prius with over 250k miles on it and I absolutely adore it. Drove it halfway across the US three times between attending university and grad school. Lately I've been thinking about taking it out camping like this, so I appreciate this so much and hope you are doing well! I'm sure someone already said this, but there is a physical key in the keyfob! It can be pulled out by pushing on the notch at the top and pulling on the ring. It comes in handy from time to time.

    Get video! Just got my 2011 Prius set up for a 3 month road-trip hitting National Parks all over the west for the summer. I have a question though, how hard was it finding boondocking spots/roads that the Prius could make it to and what was your go-to to find them? Thanks!

    • @momovomo
      @momovomo 3 месяца назад

      Thanks! I used the app ioverlander to find spots mostly. It might also be worth it to get an app with clearly defined BLM/national forest land, as that would also help. i overlander is nice because people will comment on the road conditions/accessibility. Especially in the west there are tons of spots to stay, so I’m sure you’ll figure it out and get in a good rhythm! Enjoy your travels!

    It grows back just fine. Where I live zone 9a it dies back every year in winter after a hard frost and come back in March like weed no problem. The frost controls its size for me. It even came back after Texas freeze , when a lot of very hardy plants have died . I think it will do fine in zone 7 in a protect area because it comes back like a herbaceous perennial every year

    Never had a Prius but I've been thinking about it because I have issues with very hot climates where I start getting hives...anyway, how does the climate control work while you're sleeping? Is the AC just on the entire night? Does it make any noise while you've got it on? My worry is keeping stealth while parked somewhere as I wanna travel on my own and I'm a girl but I'm also disabled so I feel a little bit less safe. I wanna be sure its stealthy enough.

    • @momovomo
      @momovomo 6 месяцев назад

      Hi! thanks for watching! I would say the AC does a somewhat good job but since mine only has AC from the front of the car, it still got very hot in the back. Bearable but not sustainable in truly hot climates, in my experience. The climate control requires the engine to kick on pretty often, so it is really not super stealthy compared to a parked car that is not on. Hope this helps!

    5.43 how do you set up curtains covering back side of front seats

    • @momovomo
      @momovomo 6 месяцев назад

      I used velcro that would stick to the headliner at the ceiling of the car, plus velcro glued to the plastic of the side of the car between the front and passenger doors. Not the cleanest solution but it did the trick.

    Thank you for sharing all of this great info about your setup! One tip that might help, regarding the Bluetti shutting off when the fridge hasn't run for a long time... That's probably due to the Bluetti having "ECO Mode" turned on by default. If you turn it off, then the Bluetti should keep the power on to the fridge all the time. To turn off ECO Mode, do the following: 1. Make sure the AC output is turned off. 2. Press the "AC" and "DC" buttons simultaneously, until you see the "60Hz" flashing on the screen. 3. Press the "DC" button to turn ECO Mode off. Hope this helps!
