The Delhi Yeti
Канада
Добавлен 13 сен 2022
What happens when you reach middle-age and realize you want to chase your dreams rather than your career. That's what I've decided to do. I don't want to be a Canadian trucker anymore, I want to travel and make videos. I want to go to new and interesting places, try different foods, learn about different religions, experience cultures in their native settings not at a once-per-year cultural event in my hometown (Winnipeg).
This channel is to share with you my personal experiences and maybe help you decide on places you'd like to go and things you'd like to see.
Enjoy the journey!!
Street Food India: The Perfect Aloo Tikki and a Hidden Temple
Jaipur, the Pink City, is a treasure trove for food lovers and cultural explorers. My quest for the perfect aloo tikki led me to Shree Prajeet Chaat Bhandar, a popular street food restaurant nestled in the heart of the city. The place was buzzing with energy, and the tantalizing aroma of freshly prepared snacks filled the air. Their *aloo tikki* was a masterpiece-golden and crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful inside, topped with tangy chutneys, peppers, and a sprinkle of spices. Every bite was a celebration of textures and flavors, a dish perfected over decades of tradition.
Before that satisfying indulgence, I stumbled upon a tranquil temple dedicated to Radha Krishna, hidden away ...

What are you going to do when you leave Jaipur and have to find a new milkshake Wallah?
That question is causing an emotional breakdown 🤣🤣
How do you like our culture? What do you find better India or USA culturally and heritage wise?
Ha ha! I 80% love Indian culture. There are a few aspects that are hard to appreciate as a westerners. I'm Canadian, but I've spent a lot of time in the USA. There are more reasons to appreciate Indian culture and heritage than in the west. But it is a great question and one worthy of a video.
That street scene is overwhelming. What a hubbub. The wedding suit is gorgeous and fits you well.
@BarbaraJaneP India is a pretty wild experience, and thank you.
This is my first chance to view one of your videos. I like it. It is certainly a side of India that is not presented in tourist brochures. Thee monkeys and cows are indeed everywhere. And the stuff strewn around is sad to see.
@@BarbaraJaneP The garbage is an issue, but like everything else in India, it's complicated.
Great video, thanks for sharing this 😊
@@DuskersHusky I'm glad you enjoyed it. It really was one of the greatest adventures I've been on.
Loved this video! I had no idea salt flats were so close to Jaipur when I was there, I deff missed them! So cool to see all the little side roads. I love how even in the 5 years since I've been to Jaipur it all looks so familiar. I guess there are many similarities with Pakistan as well though 😂
It was a relaxing day out.
Silent moments have their place… but after a moment… fading up into the music imparts a feeling of epiphany in and of the experience.
I get it... I'm just being a baby.
When you were driving between the cows, I was afraid it wasn't going to turn out well. Nice about the prices being the same for everyone in the smaller towns.
It is a little unnerving at times!
nice
Love the colour of the suite!! I'm all about pink lol. Looks good. We need a close up of the shoes.
@SuzannePaintin-r5m I'll be pulling the suit out in a few weeks, I'll get some better shots then.
Jason nice steed 🛵 amigo. Keep doing your best and enjoy the ride through life. 😎🙏🏻🧘🏻♂️
Thanks, I'm doing my best!
Did the tuk tuk driver just want to be in your video😂
He really wanted me to go on a special tour, I means all of the usual places that every tourist goes.
these types of vlog which i love to watchhh exploring non touristic places.. i suggest go to kerala, jammu and kashmir, north east states(highly recommended)explore more south..love you vlogss❤
I'll be starting my trek to get to the south in a few weeks. Stay tuned!
Amazing adventure! What do you think the temperature was in the morning? I realize the cold is made worse by the air rushing by you on the scooter. That was a rough road too.
It was probably about 12⁰C. Okay walking weather but pretty cold at 50Kph.
Thanks for sharing the videos. Fondly reminds me of my time in India - and elsewhere. And do I ever remember the AQI dance and planning around it - in many places I've lived. Point for Winnipeg on that front!
And wow! That food looks amazing.
The Raj Kachori was as amazing as it looked. There is an Indian restaurant by the Tim Hortons in Little America (Rte90&McGillvary) tha make a pretty good Raj Kachori. Worth making the trip for.
I actually keep watching because of your focus on slice of life in India it reminds me of my time there. But it seems a few things have changed. There wasn't many hostels anywhere, I wished I could have stayed in hostels and meet more people. I'd like to see some video about hostel life in the various cities. I know might not be able to, because of taking video inside and privacy concerns. I mostly want to know do they end up as good as they are presented on the various websites. (I checked some out)
Ha! They definitely don't match the photos. The hostel I'm at in Jaipur is the nicest hostel I've been to (Jaipur Jantar Hostel), both almost all of them aren't as advertised. I'll probably do an in depth travel tips vid, I'll definitely go over how to choose hostels and maybe even what some of them are actually like.
you keep making them and il keep watching
Awesome, more motivation for me!
Hello, I'm enjoying all of your videos.I live in Manitoba, Canada.
Thanks, that's inspiration to keep going!
What were the people.on the water doing? Swimming, or bathing?
I person was bathing, but the first guy in the video appeared to be doing a ritual cleansing of his sins. I'm not 100% certain, but I'm assuming it's similar to the process of washing your sins away in the Ganges river (the holiest of rivers).
The Peg, dogs, your sister. Where are the monkeys!
I'm editing a video now, should be out in the next 24hrs, lots of monkey, I mean LOTS!
That Raj kachori looked SOOOO good. Interesting about the air quality index in various places. I sort of expected Sweden would be top of the heap in the countries you mentioned. Oh, and I'm from Winnipeg. That's in Canada. ;)
That Raj kachori is definitely in the top two I've had.
Where's your new glasses loving your outlook on india planning my 2nd trip to India for next year starting in leh ending in kolkata for 3 months I love india coming from Sydney australia the contrast is amazing keep the vlogs coming great work
Thanks! I want to go to Leh also. The problem is that as an ex-trucker, I'm not a good passenger, and those roads look super sketchy.

@@navdeepsingh9777 Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
That suit is 🔥🔥🔥
I'm glad it has your approval 👍
Good work 🇵🇰 I like it
Pakistan, definitely somewhere I'd like to visit.
Awesome knowledge about tuktuk and india also ❤
@AdityaRai-n2i In a perfect world I would know more about India 🇮🇳 and less about tuk tuks.
India is world power number oneeeeeeeeeeeeeee meow...
@@fishiestify And only getting stronger.
What power people are dying from hunger
@rachelabraham5488 India has come so far in the last 20yrs, especially in terms of raising people out of poverty. Yes it still exists, but it improves everyday.
There are no capitalists in Heaven! "Capitalism is the insidious vine that strangles the Heart, while the sweet fruits intoxicate!"
@nameless-yd6ko I couldn't agree more, but coming from The West, it's nice to see it working for the people instead of against them.
@@thedelhiyeti I guess that, at the moment, it is the best of evils.
@@thedelhiyeti For and against, mostly against, and for the wealthy.
Why all the garbage? Do people just drop stuff on the ground? No garbage cans or clean up crews?
That is a video all to itself!! When you throw garbage on the ground in India it isn't just litter, it's employment. The litter keeps the most impoverished employed. It's more complicated than that, but that's the starting point.
Sorry for me not knowing but what is the Hawa Mahal? I saw it but no not what I am looking at.
It's the palace for the Raj's wives to be able to see the markets and the people without being seen themselves. It's one of the top 3 tourist spots in Jaipur.
What I want to see is you hardcore bartering with a tuktuk driver, like trying to get much lower than first quoted price.😅 Preferably until it actually becomes a reasonable enough price for you to accept the ride.
I'll see about that. I really do my best to avoid tuk tuks, they are the worst part of India. But I still end up using them from time to time.
The temple and the ride there looked so peaceful. What happened in the end with the tuk-tuk driver on the way back? Did you cave and give him more like he wanted?
Nope, I didn't cave. I know from experience that what I paid was more than fair. And despite his bullying I stood my ground.
love your videos , i am planning my first trip to delhi for dental work and will be going solo . i am learning alot of the ins and outs from your videos and i very thankful so thanks man.
I'll be going to a dentist in India before too long. Tip: unless you're staying at a super fancy hotel, never book more than one night. In India, hotels use a lot of stock photos, and in Delhi it's the worst.
@@thedelhiyeti good to know i am hoping i can get a nice room for 100 canadian a night,
@@thedelhiyeti dentzz is the one i have chatted with online
@calvindezelak6665 $100/night is super deluxe, at least by my standards. My idea of fancy would be $50/night. Of course it depends on what part of the city you're in.
I learnt so much! Thanks for sharing!
@laurieyoung8734 I'm stunned I made it understandable, thanks!
Yaayy You Go #TheDelhiYeti We Love you ❤

Jaipur is one of my favorite cities, it has sights to see but the people truly are what makes it.
You poor thing. Two pineapple milkshakes in one day. How do you manage?
@@francinemartinart It's a hard life being an influencer 🤣🤣🤣
I really should have made the focus of this video about the fact that one way I couldn't get a rickshaw at a reasonable price, then on the way back I wasn't allowed to pay.
I was just wondering whether the glasses made you feel woozy before you talked about it. I imagine having a proper prescription after buying off the rack for years must be a huge improvement. And $50 is unheard of here, of course.
I was impressed that you made it across the street while filming. Half a million people through the New Delhi station?! That's insane! No wonder that area is notorious for scams. Great video!
It’s a totally different world over there.
Great video! I enjoyed your insights. I noticed all the vibrant colours as well, I feel like we have the saturation turned down here in Canada, so nice to see stuff poppin'.
It really is an amazing place.
We have an odd aversion to colour in the West.
Nice to go for a walk with you :)
Loved the video! I'd like to see a tuk-tuk negotiation, or something similar.
I'll have to figure out how to tastefully do it.
So interesting! Can’t wait to see the rest
There's a lot more coming!
In any other place I would have assumed the happy music would be coming from an ice-cream truck.
They play the same song in all the city's I've been to. I'm dying to ask one of my friend's what they are singing.
Please feel free to ask any questions you have, who knows, your question might be the motivation for my next video.
I really enjoyed this video! So interesting about the garbage truck. Something you wouldn't know just seeing it drive by. And that necklace in the one shop! Gorgeous! of course that wedding suit was stunning as well. I'm looking forward to the next video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
