I went in expecting it to be flawed, and ended up having a great time. I remember being excited when the original came out, but being a little disappointed because I wanted more Michael Keaton. Better late than never, I finally got what I wanted.

Hmmm…might be better to wait for it on a streamer, then?

Went to Food & Wine this week!! Loved the pan de queso, the avocado margarita, shrimp tostadas, and my fav Canada cheese soup and the filet mignon!!! Solo Disney dates can be alot Of fun. Glad you enjoyed Yourself!

I agree that the beginning of the film was slow to pick up, but overall I really enjoyed it. I loved the wedding scene and you can see on the actors faces how much fun they had doing that scene :)

This movie sucked horrible I fell asleep don't waste your time seariously it was trash. Girl Interrupted was better put it like that. It was boring and trash.

I was on a gig and had an awkward gap in my schedule. Perfect excuse to go to the movies. I went in knowing nothing about it. I thought it was very well done. A little (or a lot) derived or influenced from other material, but still, solid storytelling, pacing and, despite the familiarity, something fresh. I enjoyed it. Happy to see your smiling face Pete ;)

I thought it was fantastic

I saw it tonight. My feelings are pretty similar to yours. They should have cut the final act and I believe it would have been a stronger film. If they cut the fan service (“Get away from her…” REALLY?!) it would have been even better. Swap Ian Holm out, I love him but the AI face was uncanny valley, and surprise us a little bit, and it would have been great. The sound was amazing though. And the writer and director really leaned on sound design in a few scenes (the 98.6F room, the kids’ ship first taking off, a few other moments) and the sound team ran with the ball. I love to hear it.

It was excellent, except when it was awful. The fan service call backs were terrible, everything else was on point. Hi Pete!

We watched it tonight. At home, but we've got a decent home theater. 75" screen. Consumer grade Atmos setup. Darkened room. Great popcorn. It's not a theater, but it's better than the average home viewing setup, and it's intended to give us the most theatrical experience we can afford (and eventually I'm going to upgrade a bit). It was... okay. You're touching on a lot of things I felt watching this. "Poor man's Matthew McConaughey" is such a perfect description for Powell in this film, and I was grasping earlier this evening at how to describe him. I think I liked the original film more than you do though. The first one was a summer blockbuster, yeah, but I felt it had a heart. The chemistry between Paxton and Hunt was great, the chemistry among the cast in general was solid. Philip Seymour Hoffman was hilarious. The score was great, some of the licensed/original songs were great, and the interplay between the two at times (like the horn section playing Van Halen riffs before the song kicks in) was just stellar. To me at least it was a summer blockbuster that, if you squint a bit, feels like a bit more than just that. This movie felt more like what it said on the box: come see tornadoes. Watch the big visual effects. I felt zero chemistry between anyone in the cast. I didn't even like any of the characters for most of the film, although Kate started growing on me in the last 20-30 minutes. The first one, while obviously not realistic, at least felt a bit grounded... it never quite got so silly that it broke my disbelief. This one did more than once. And my other frustration, although I feel this about a lot of modern films and not just this one, is that there were so many moments where they should have just let the moment breathe a little more and they just... didn't. Agh. I thought this at least a dozen times, but the end of the theater sequence was a really obvious one. The girl stops floating in the air, "thank you," cue the music, everyone get up. Good lord just let us sit there for 20 seconds and hear the environment and process. I hate the pace of so many modern films. I didn't start this comment expecting to write so much. And I doubt anyone will read my ramblings. But this movie was kinda fun, sounded great, but is also a poster child for a lot of what I hate about modern blockbuster movies. Or maybe I'm just turning into an old man yelling at clouds, I dunno.

on point, i was already not loving it, it was hard to stay awake until "ash" or something appeared n then... that ending. no. its less offensive (minus the ending) than prometheus but its also not as interesting. What i loved the most were the sets. Can't say I did like the rest nearly as much. Besides this should be called FACEHUGGER: Romulus lol, barely any xenos in it. The effort is there, I really think they tried and that stuff was done with care and respect but in the end it didn't work for me. I much prefer his other two movies strangely enough, the Evil Dead Remake and Don't breathe felt waaaaay more satisfying than this after it was over

It’s hard to do a movie about games because you can’t fit the whole plot in 2 hours. And one of the best parts of borderlands is the art style. If they have made it a animation like Spider-Man it’ll be a big hit. But budget was probably low.

It connects because this was based on The Original Outlaws MC Chicago origin, also based on the book and interviews on MC life. I will say this is one of the few movies that doesn't paint the 60's as some clean cut or interpretation that's fictional. For one the filming locations. In the Midwest, there are towns/farmland that really look like they didn't change past 50-90 years ago. Lot's of references to real Chicagoland locations. The Chicago accents were pretty close. Chicago accents are difficult to get right. Other than Michael Shannon, a Chicago actor. Tom Hardy's second in command is an Australian actor, and out of all the actors. He nailed the accent to the tee, the guys sounds like me, my dad, my neighbors/co-workers. Jodi Comer got the accent spot on from the few recordings from the real Katie. I grew up not far from The Outlaws MC mother chapter clubhouse in Little Village neighborhood of Chicago. The irony is that their clubhouse is located a few city blocks away from Cook County Illinois (taxes/birth/criminal/property) records storage archive building and Cook County courthouse/jail.

It’s a great movie. But for an accurate depiction of the de-stigmatization of Irish hip hop, it’s on the same level as Braveheart.
