Video Review: Two-Handed Knot Tying
Просмотров 1443 года назад
All the credit goes to the students who have worked so hard to improve their skills. These are videos seen from their surgical skills session. I was giving them direct feedback but thought it would be beneficial to share the common issues we all face while trying to achieve mastery!!! For those students who do want someone to look directly at their technique at any of the skills we have describ...

Просмотров 4774 года назад
You've seen it a million times, but lets break down how to do it! I am hoping this will give students/residents an understanding of how it works so that you can make a decision about what you want to do when you are in the driver seat. Get ready for your forehand to hurt and your mind to confuse "pronate and supinate."

    hi! so do we completely avoid augmenting if a thrombus is found, or you just skip augmentation at the location of the clot?

    • @thecleanscalpel4761
      @thecleanscalpel4761 3 года назад

      Hi Annie. Great Question. When you are performing local compression (to check for DVT), you are indirectly performing augmentation for a more proximal window. So you do not have to avoid augmentation. If you feel comfortable, you can always ask the patient to perform a toe plantar flexion (which would do the same thing).
