Shogun ...Through Separate Eyes - Demo 1998
Shogun was a band from the Boulder/Denver, CO area that existed between 1998 - 2002. I first met them in 99 when I moved to CO. I stopped into a record store in Denver called Bakamano and met their bass player at the time , Joe. Joe and I became friends as we were both from MD and because of that friendship I got to tag along with Shogun and see bands like Trial, Clear, Indecision, Cave in, Bane, Eiffel and a bunch of others.
This demo features the original singer Trevor who was my favorite of the two singers Shogun had. The second and last singer Warren was great in his own right but, Trevor had a style that made the whole thing way more chaotic for me.

www.etsy.com/listing/1754144531/anti-gravity-comp-one-limited-to-20 In the spring of 2024 I sent out a message on instagram that I wanted to do a super short run DIY cassette comp. Genre didn't matter I just needed the songs to be less than a minute. Why? Because I had left over tapes from another project that I needed to use and they were only 5 minutes on each side. Some songs are longer than...

Fort Recovery was a short-lived venue in Cumberland, MD, which was an old church being used for AA meetings and counseling services at the time we were involved. 200 North was able to have shows there because Brendans Mom knew the people that ran it. I keep it clean for the youth
Glad you found a copy. I'm a huge Duncan Sheik fan. I was born in 82 and all my music was on cassette, but that album was my first CD. I went to five stores in the Boston area, where I live, but they were all sold out. I checked on EBay and scalpers were selling them for hundreds of dollars. I found one on a website for $45. Thank God. It was a nice, come full-circle moment, for me. I love vinyl. I was so happy to finally get a DS vinyl that was also my first CD, after moving away from cassettes.
Duncan Sheik is underrated and overlooked. This album is classic. I’m glad you didn’t pay flipper prices. That’s the worst part of RSD by far. Now all we need is for a pressing of his album “Humming” and I’m good to go.
@@AntiGravityRadio 100% agree that he is underrated. He's in my top 5 all time musicians/bands. Humming is amazing. I would love that on vinyl, too Phantom Moon would sound great on vinyl, as well. I'll take them all on vinyl. Especially, White Limousine. Daylight is a masterpiece. Shame Claptrap isn't on any physical media. I even love the direction he took with Ledgerdemain. Looking forward to his upcoming 70s cover album, considering how good Cover 80s was. Supposedly, there's a Whisper House vinyl. I think someone is selling it in Discogs for a hundred or more. I'm sure he'll do his City Winery tours. Hope to see him in Boston this year or next. Nice to meet a fellow DS fan. I was hooked with Barely Breathing, but fell in love with everything artsy and lesser known. I have almost every vinyl I need. Just missing The Atari's, "Welcome the Night" and Tears for Fears, "Elemental."
@@Jurrell1982 ohhh I had no idea about the Whisper House vinyl. Also agree Cover 80s is solid.
This is Great!!
Thanks, man!
These tracks are still downloaded on my phone and still get play time. Timeless classics. - dave

Appalachian punk rock coming from MD. Coming atcha right below the Mason Dixon line.
Like a mile below it
@@AntiGravityRadio And recorded in Pennsyltucky.
That first intro reminds me of RKL. Rock on

Good stuff! Reminds me of Disdain
Disdain is 90 times better than we ever were. But I'll take the comparison.
Is cumberland MD a place I'd want to move to? 😅
Depends on who you talk to and if you are of retirement age. But I left about 20 years ago and wouldn’t move back.
@@AntiGravityRadio enough said lol. Thanks
@@pressureflipin1992 Idk if there are a lot of jobs and stuff to do like Montgomery County. I would recommend it if you like Appalachia and rural areas.

Ah the '90s! 'Twas a magical time to be a youth! All messing aside, it really was great growing up and being a teen in the 90s. I feel blessed to have experianced it.
Agreed.
I love maximum rock n roll. Great stuff!!

So glad I discovered this, great punk, respect ! Kroezel

Were you in this band? I live in harford county and kinda wanna show everyone i know...gotta get more info haha
Sorry for the delay, just saw this! I played guitar in this band
Jack White claimed he was in The Phuck Ups once
I would appreciate if you spread that rumor. I'm trying to get a million views so I can pay off a jet ski I bought on QVC back in the 90's

Is "white trash" anti-white people or pro-white people? There's 3 lyrics but I only can make out half of them....
hey that screeching weasel song is actually fathead, just thought I'd say ^^
Haha, i was just talking about 200 north the other day and how clever their name was... 200 north was the name of the psych ward you'd get locked up in if you got put on a 72 hour psychiatric observation hold.
I did not know that. I named it 200 North because that was my address at the time. 200 North Centre st and we had a group of hooligans that hung out there. Yours is more thought out. I may start telling people that.
Wtf. I know where Cumberland is and i know a bunch of Twiggs. Yt algorithm def strange. 23 and me this shit
Do you know this Twigg?
@@AntiGravityRadio dunno brian twigg. I know of twiggtown in Cumberland. My fam tells me they settled there way back in the day.
@@GrimMetropolis I drove through Twiggtown once or twice growing up in CMD but it does seem we've been there a very long time. I'm Brian, btw. Nice to meet you
@@AntiGravityRadio nice to meet you, too. I assume we're some sort of distant cousin as my twigg grandfathers fam was from Cumberland. Apparently there was/are alot of them out that way. This video was at the top of my yt recommendations. I had to say something; just too funny. The algorithm know us well XD Especially the punk rock🙌
@@GrimMetropolis Yeah I assume there is a relation with all Twiggs but the only ones I know are in my immediate family. As for the algorithm, super weird.
