Black Eagle Gold Mine
Filmed in 1927 by a fellow named W. S. Noblitt who, at the time, was the secretary-treasurer of the Signal Oil & Gas Company, the apparent owners of the mine. From what I can gather, Mr. Noblitt may have come from or lived in Hawaii at one time. He may have also resided in California. He possibly may have also been a Shriner and produced a film (which I have) about the second Shriners Children's Hospital, built in Hawaii in the 1920's.
The Black Eagle Mine was located in the Riverside area of California. It appears this was a "mildly successful" gold mine operated from 1924 to 1940. It was located two miles from the old Iron Chief gold mine.

Back in 1985 my cousin Patty got married and asked me to shoot the wedding. Mr. Mister's song "Kyrie" was hot back then so I made this piece edited to that song for her and her new husband, John. You'll be pleased to know Patty and John are still happily married after some 40 years (2025), have three kids and several grand kids. Guess they beat the odds.
Motocross 338 - Southwick Mass

This is a little documentary film we made way back in 1981 having to do with American Legion Post 338 in Southwick Mass and the motocross track they created for the kids. The track has fallen on hard times and has closed but the memory of those very early days lives on in this film. Meet the men who started it all. Before motocross turned into a big corporate business it was just kids and their...

TFG Film & Tape has performed a digital restoration to the 1909 Edison film of Mark Twain. The image has been flipped left to right to correct the camera-to-subject orientation. It has had it's speed corrected from the camera frame rate of the day. The detail has been enh...

Grew up across the street, we loved to hear the BRAP BRAP on Saturday mornings!!
It was an honor to be picked for a flag position
Dante Molta!
Although it seems like a long time ago it wasn't long ago when the AMA tried to blow the candle out on the WICK. Thanks to a handful of iconic supporters we were able to keep one of the pioneer national tracks that helped make this sport what it is today. All hail the 338 🇺🇲✊
PS: they lost the national event in 2014
Ah, time goes on, death is inevitable, and we will become dust and ashes. It is worth reflecting once more on why we live and whether we act with dignity. Let everyone reading these lines remember mindfulness and wisdom and strive to seek them.
I’m not sure who created this little documentary but it cannot be overstated how important this film is. I highly doubt that whoever created this knew at the time that they captured a time not only in motocross but also a time in New England that barely exists today. The honesty in this film is absolutely priceless. There is nothing pretentious about this time in the world. The people who created this track and its “scene” did it for the love of the sport, the kids and the community. Very rare in today’s world. As it was stated in the film profit was never the focus of this track’s creation. The focus of profit nearly closed this track. I’m so thankful that it has survived and for the person who created this film. It’s more important than you think.
As co-producer of this doc thanks for the kind words. I had occasion to return to the track several years ago to shoot for Speed Channel. Was very disheartened to see the changes. They had clearcut the woods seen in this program to allow 40’ tractor trailers access. The family atmosphere was long gone. It had become just another commercial operation.
What a visual treat to an old ghost, I've liked all my life and come to genuinely respect more and more the older I get. Know for an absolute certainty 'Mark ain't dead yet, because he has too many people in the world that love the way he talks, so keep company with that wonderfully wise gentleman.
Well, Thomas Edison's camera freaking sucked
Daughter Clara lived until the mid-1960s. surely there must be interviews with her including on television. If not Prior on film or radio.
Mark Twain
Did the guy in the cowboy hat say medically it’s the best? I’ve never heard that term. Is that old New England talk? Cool video
Is there Lighting in the room? Why the brightness is increasing and decreasing continuously? Lol😂😂😂
So much changes, yet so much remains the same. The trees in the background are blown about by a strong breeze. A man smiles sheepishly as he steps into frame. Where did the smoke from Twain's cigar go? Are there still traces of it somewhere? Twain had only one more year left. Did he know? Even films as old and scratchy still convey an illusion of life.
Mark twain did make a recording of his voice around 1892 for a small privately owned recording firm in newyork know as bettine. Unfortunately very few of these recordings exist and are highly prized by collectors today. Perhaps it will turn up someday but it's highly unlikely. Someone who knew him made a recording around 1930 imitating him. It's the closest thing we have to the real thing. Look it up.
I find it fascinating that i only live 2 miles away from stormfield
If you don't read the newspaper you're uninformed. If you do read the newspaper, you're misinformed.
Watching a video shot 114 years ago, fucking wild
looks like a horror movie especially the clothing and hair styles
I saw him on an episode of Star Trek once.
He travelled to the earth with Haley’s Comet and returned home with Haley’s Comet.
there has to be a cylinder of his voice....somewhere......wouldn't it be nice...
Wow!
An American treasure.

At this time in life, Twain was quite lonely. His wife had just died and his daughter Jean would die soon after from a seizure. Beautiful villa that he built in Redding though.
Yes, very sad.
His essay on the death of Jean is heartbreaking.
Imagine how fun it would be to sit, have a cup and chat at that table.
If I could spend my time with any person in history, Mark Twain would be at the top of my list - though I seriously doubt he would say the same about me.
Priceless!!
Is that Twain's son in law who brings the hat into the scene?
Now we need to unearth the only recording of Twain's voice made by Edison. Thanks for this. Signed, a Twainiac
Really seems windy when this was filmed….
Made my week plus time, thanks!
Super . I thank Edison for the timely capture of Mark Twain on camera
Seeing some real puffs from Mark Twain's cigar is pretty damn cool. It's as hard to imagine America without Twain, as it is without Jefferson or Adams.
I find this remarkable. Its like a window into the past looking at one of the greatest literary artists of all time.
( ´ー`)y-~~
El primer " verdadero " Estadounidense.
If you’re driving a Tesla and it is stolen does it then become an Edison?
Notice the way they are sipping their teacups. They must be putting on a show for the camera. The teacups are nearly on their sides vertically whenever they take a sip. If the cups had tea in them it would have spilled down the front of their clothes. My guess is after they finished their tea, they needed something to do with their hands. It reminded me of a children’s tea party. Playful.
*In the 1970's, the late Hal Holbrook did a one-man show called "Mark Twain Tonight." I think it must have been on PBS. Does anyone know if a recording of this is available in any form?*

lol before the income tax.. The golden prosperous days of America.
I think digital restoration can do this better.
Why did Mr. Twain always look like he was taking a shit?
I love this so much! Casually having tea in a wind storm, I laughed and it looked like they were laughing too. Thank you so much for sharing this with the world!
my nigga was always smoking on something
Why the cameraman never suggested moving whatever is the centerpiece will always befuddle historians
A Twentieth Century man largely caught in the Nineteenth.
The reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated.
Does he have any descendants alive today?
Is that 'reefer' he's smoking? Turns you into a mad killer!
