Very much appreciated. I don't know what I'm doing for the holidays but I just pray that I'm surrounded by genuine people who love me and have positive energy/vibes instead of being around people I'm used to being around.

"The greater the gap between rich and poor related to increases in social malaise. IE Teen pregnancies, domestic violence, failures in health systems... inequality was really the deciding factor in how those played out" and "inequality heightens competitive consumption" then "If we want to think about climate change we really need to think about inequality because the driver of consumption is inequality". Perhaps the driver of inequalities we see in the world, especially in sovereign and free countries, are complex social issues which are inherently multi-variable and multi-faceted. To reduce these issues of inequality into the exact characteristics which lead to inequality, namely teenage pregnancy or violence, then to claim that inequality is also the source of these further inequalities, which then in turn is related to climate change? I think this author should study economics and culture and perhaps he would see the mythos contained in his arguments.

Furthermore, what does a country like China care about inequality and climate change? Their society is built on inequality. In the free states it is possible the individual can make decisions to move upwards very freely (comparatively to other countries, which is why so many have immigrated here). So perhaps instead of trying to help people through means of fighting "inequality" we should examine the culture and world views which constitute the lowest classes and see how we can help free people from the traps of generational poverty.

If you want to increase people's well being and quality of life, that is something they themselves must do. Systematic aid on the government level has failed time and time again, leading to the opposite outcomes than desired. Perhaps read some Thomas Sowell and his comments on the black community specifically before and after the implementation of the welfare system.

"It would be easier to manage our coexistence if everyone were the same" this idealistic view is simply not reality. Just as some soil is fertile and other soil is sandy, so too is the nature of the human condition. You cannot equalize that which is inherently differential. Some people will achieve great things in life, some will wallow in their present condition until their death. One may live in a large house, another may live in government subsidized housing. Both are ultimately due to their free choices, though many factors also come into play. We must all be responsible for our actions which is a major tenant and truism of the human condition in a free state. We cannot avoid being "in the presence of other" unless you would like to abolish the freedom of man.

This is a very interesting and informative video. There is a joy in his voice and the hopefulness and promise of being civically engaged. If he ran for ANY public office in New Jersey I would vote for him. I am sincerely inspired.
