Aw.., he doesn't like green! Well, here is my 70 green on green story. It was 1993. My car was fresh out of mu DIY full restoration. The car was LOOKIN GOOD! I was having my 350/350 judged in (I believe) Farmington Ct. by the regional NCRS. I was there with a good buddy of mine. He is a retired pro NBA center, 36 yrs old, 6'11" 250 lbs, arms the size of Rambo! Great shape! We were hanging around the car waiting for the interior to be judged. Well, here comes a gentlemen (I won't say his name but his last name begun with W and ended in ing):) who was the interim judge out of Texas, small in stature. There was another judge with him, a bigger guy farmer like with bluejean suspender overalls who was the NCRS chassis judge. So, Chuck and I were standing there, he with his tank top on and arms folded... you see, they did not know it was my car... So the interior guy says to the other judge. - "Huh, green on green - good thing we don't see many of these"! Chuck say - "what did you just say"?? judge "Is this your car sir:? Chuck - "I'll ask you again, what did you say about the color of the car"? I don't recall (anymore) what his response was but I do remember Chuck's. Now Chuck never swears - he say's " my friend is here to get his car judged; it's a corvette just like the 65 over there. So from your here keep you F'n comments to yourself, understand? Ha ha I still get goose bumps when I recall that afternoon in Farmington CT.
Is an amazing car . I have never understand why the purists criticism about this marvelous design. It is a modern classic. Congrats for your car . Please keep it that way whit the black rock panels . (Just an observation keep it clean like brand new)
Hey just to let you know that your audio doesn't work for this video I checked with other videos and I can hear them and I can't hear this one can you please fix it
The audio doesn't work on this video
❤❤ what a beautiful car Panic Pontiac had it going on😮😮
310 HP! Not 290HP Sir….
Glad we couldn’t hear the car…just someone’s lame music choice!
Great Car
So less than half a 250GTO.
Wow,I would have thought that would have fetched a lot more than $1.3 mill,Awesome car…
I had a 260Z...it was a pretty good car!
My favorite Shelby I love the 68 especially in a rag top.
❤❤❤
Awesome!!!
Awesome piece of British Engineering!! Great GT for racing in Classic car races!!!😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤
The judge was just an appearance package on a GTO. Same exact performance as a regular GTO. And thats a T-grip shifter not a pistol grip.
I saw another clip with the appraisal.
Keith is pretty on it as far as estimates.
The rear tires are way too thin. When this guy said 330k, and Keith said 250k, I knew he was going to lose a ton of money. Not sure why this vid didn't show the appraisal. The point of watching this vid. 👎
prices are skyrocketing now for earle second generation T.A's. This must be an old video
I saw one of these at a show many years ago. What an awesome car!
It's a super sport with the Rally Sport option you pronounced it wrong. Some people call it a rs ss.
Yeah, no ... I don't see a Grandma driving this car. This model was driven by Richard Petty in NASCAR during 66 and 67 ... he won more RACES in a row than anybody in History with this model. It was also a legit Super Stock Drag car of the period. So ... while it was called the Business Man's muscle car ... it was a legitimate monster on the track and drag strip.
Not totally "original" - "original" Panteras did not have radio / stereo or speakers installed. Not trying to nit-pick, but just for accuracy.
The problem with the NCRS, after talking to them, you never want to drive the car.
Corvette not built for road racing? That would be news to Zora Arkus Duntov assuming you even know who he is. 😀
Isn't "spider" the term Ferrari uses for its convertibles? "Cabriolet" is used mostly by German manufacturers.
Looks like a 1960 MGA
MOPAR??? What the hell are you talking about??
Bought one of those from a scrap yard wasn't in bad condition either. Think i paid 1k sold it in one day for 5k. Not a bad days pay
This was the car to include the 68,69 Corvette models that kept racers up at night. Not the 63, nor 64 thru 67. Barrett Jackson got you all twisted. Raised in the 70s and 80s. We had Pontiacs and Cameros.
Stunning. Very very 70s, and the LT1 is my favorite.
Since I can only find.. this one and the pale green one... What happened to the GT40 Roadster that Custom Car builder Dean Jeffries had?... When I first met him, visiting his shop in Hollywood.. he let me sit in it .
Oh, sweet baby Jesus, that auto is gorgeous. Back when cars had style, class, elegance. I miss those days.
I campaigned a '72 LT-1 on the streets in the late 1970's. Actually owned the car for about 3 months before I really learned how to drive it. It was a 3.70 geared car. For maximum performance, I'd come out of the hole above 3500 rpm and keep it there. Below that, the factory 780 double pumper would cause it to stumble, but above 3500 it was a monster. The best shift points were actually around 6300 rpm, but I never really watched the tach all that closely -- you listen to the engine. The car would easily run 60 in 1st gear, 95 in 2nd, and 137 in 3rd, and bark the tires shifting into 4th. Some may doubt that, but it's the truth. I raced against some fast stuff, and some of the races were close -- until 4th gear. And then it was over for them -- every time. From there the car would quickly run on up to about 160. I raced other '72 LT-1's and beat them all, but not by much. Had I raced a '70, I would have expected to lose. From what I understand, they were crazy fast in the right hands and with the right amount of traction. I bought my car in 1976 with 38,000 original miles on it, paid $1000 more for it than it cost new, and owned it 4 times.
Id rather find one to fix up myself cheaper than pay a rich mans full value price.
Are you kiddin me? 90K for a super duty 73? All original low mileage. Even tho it was an automatic, I thought it would've gone way past 100. must be an old auction. Why the drop in trend?
The funny part is the car was in valet mode and all the power was suppressed during the test drive. Guess they should have called me to unlock it :)
I remember going to my local Ford dealer in April 69. They’re sat a black on black 69 boss 429 the sticker price of $5500. I was foaming at the mouth. Man I wanted that car bad. Most are right it was under carbureted and under cammed
My first car in high school was a 1973 Datsun 240Z. Married at age twenty, the first car we bought together was a 1980 Datsun 280ZX. Loved the Z cars. I like the newest Z that is out, may have to get one…..
Why would you have a car and not drive it? I get the sentiment, but the fun is to drive a car you buy. A car is NEVER a good investment and should never be looked at that way. It’s a machine that will degrade and depreciate over time. Might as well have fun driving it.
He probably doesn’t have intercourse with his partner to “keep the miles off” for the next guy 😂
This guy must own a few vettes
BUY A CAR, DRIVE YOUR CAR!!! A car is designed to be a toy not an investment, you can baby your car, but you will be happier driving in it than looking at it.
Well, you can do what you want. I have cars I drive, and I have cars to sell in the future. To each there own.
this is not what i do with my low mileage cars, I drive the crap out of them, some poor guy worked really hard so i could enjoy his car, and I'm gonna enjoy it myself and not let some other guy enjoy something I worked hard to keep new instead of enjoying it myself. obviously still keep it as nice and maintained as you can, but never be afraid to use enjoy and yes abuse something that WILL wear out. it might as well be you that gets the most fun out of the things you own. also older super low mileage cars always have a ton of weathered, decayed, and dry rotted stuff that no one notices until something breaks at the worst possible time, the one time you are trying to have a really fun time. but if you regularly put the car through its paces, you will find all that stuff, and she will be ready to go when you want to take her out on a road trip, or a fancy date, or a twisty back road. and for the sake of your sanity and the car, if you love the car, DO NOT use big box store parts. they are junk. use OEM parts, they cost twice as much, but last four times as long.
It's been my experience that idle things wear fastest. I had a Boxter and a mechanic told me to put at least 12k a year on it or pay for extensive maintenance.
PORSCHE HAS THE SAME LOOKS FOR 50 YEARS AND IT STILL HAS SNAP OVERSTEER
Wait 6 months you will get one for38 thousand
Love the white interior
One word, AWESOME 👌
Easily 1 of my favorite cars. 1970 Grand Sport , Chevelle, Skylark...
Nice Big Block
