I’m an avid golfer from the metro-Detroit area who can officially call himself an 80 Breaker, an All-County top 25 player, and a medalist in multiple high school tournaments. My career low 9 Hole Round is a 34 (-1), which took place in the same round where I first broke 80 at Farmington Hills Golf Club with a 77. I did so on July 8th, 2020. I’ve scored as low as 74 (+3) in competition, which is also my career low 18 Hole Round. My tournament average was 39.89/9 holes at the end of the 2021 Golf Season, where I broke 80 six times. I’ve recently hit a little bit of a rocky stint in my game but I’m trying to grind out of it. I hope you will join me for the ride. Welcome to the Stampede!

Henrik Norlander Has Just Done Something Incredible…
Happy belated Thanksgiving, everyone! I thought that this story was too important to ignore. A 37 year old PGA Tour pro from Danderyd, Sweden by the name of Henrik Norlander has just concluded an incredible PGA Tour Season where, despite only playing in 21 tournaments due to having limited status, finished the year 120th in FedEx Cup points and has regained his tour card for the 2025 season.
The fact he regained his tour card is impressive enough. Most players who lose it never get it back. The fact that he did so without playing a full season on the Korn Ferry Tour or playing in the PGA Q-School finals and simply relied on the PGA Tour events he was eligible for is just ridiculous.

I’ve played some very nice courses in Michigan before: The Emerald, Eagle Glen, Bucks Run, and Manistee Golf and Country Club have been some amazing courses I’ve been able to feature on the channel. However, this may be the best course yet. You may be thinking that’s a bold statement, but this course is currently ranked 26th in the state for public golf and has been ranked as high as 8th. Me: 59 year old who had to give up golf 25 years ago with serious back issues with a USGA handicap of 17, highlighted by 2 hole in ones less than a year apart in 93 and 94. Your game 3 years ago looked similar to mine; much better now. I've also since watched your Captains Club vid, as I lived in Grand Blanc for 3 years as a kid and was familiar with it as I had kept some connection to the area since then. You asked why someone watches your vids. I watched because I wanted to see Pipestone being played as it currently exists. Would be great to see back nine videos as well. P.S....on #2 in the summers, good drives that land right of the fairway centerline can potentially end up in the water on left.
Great editing and nice round
Appreciate it, man. This was a week after my high school state championship where I shot 159 there and played some of the best golf of my life. I was hot from March through June this year.
I played that course the first weekend it opened in 97… you gotta stay in the fairway or it can get out of hand quick
@@traviskeen6509 Facts
@@buffaloben15golf88 it’s a ball eating course at times haha..
@@traviskeen6509 ain’t that the truth. Try the Pearl Golf Club in Calabash, North Carolina. That one is close to Myrtle Beach actually. Especially the west nine’s 5th through 8th. I vlogged that as well and shot an 84 but was only going to post the better one of the two in NC and I shot 80 at Croe Creek.
I'm 73. Plumbrook was my favorite track when I was a kid. It's an old course, with all the holes bunched together side-by-side. It's hard to make a big score on any of the holes there other than #16, which has OB right all the way down the hole, with Plum Creek right in the spot your second shot might land. Really off line drives mostly always end up in the adjoining fairway. There are trees off to the side of the fairways, but they really seldom get in the way. The course is short by modern standards, but the greens are small. If you are not on your game, it is easy to miss the green with short irons, hit mediocre chips, miss all the 7 ft. putts, and play consistent bogey golf. On the other hand, if you chip and putt really well, you can post a great score even if your full swing shots are in your "B" game category. The course conditions are way, way above average, especially the greens, for a close-in Metro Detroit golf course, which, when combined with the short length, makes Plumbrook great for a golfer's ego. The course is super-busy with leagues morning and afternoon M-F, and packed on weekends. I lived for about a dozen years in the condos immediately west of the course boundary, and was delighted to be so near this absolue gem of a public course. Rates are very reasonable, and, personally, I love the old-style clubhouse dining room and bar for 19th hole relaxation and eats.
Skip to 6:05 if you don’t want to hear my ramble at the beginning
Nice playing!
I brought the nose up after those first few holes. Found a groove with the swing that was working.
@@buffaloben15golf88 I hear ya! Whatever works lol! Looked like a fun, but challenging track! Also, beautifully played out of the bunker on 9🔥.
Silly oversight by me on the scorecard at the end of the video. It adds up to a 42 on the card but on there I mistakenly put a 5 down for hole nine instead of a 4 which is what it was thanks to that amazing bunker shot. That’s why we have the video rolling, right?

Flexing on the cart girl. That a boy!
That drive was pounded. One time at the Palm Course at Walt Disney World on the 8th hole, a par three, I chipped in for a 2 from 80 feet out right as the cart girl pulled up. A feeling almost no golfer will ever get to experience…

Golfing this course tomorrow!
Sorry for my delay in seeing this. Hope you enjoyed it! It’s a well maintained and affordable track
Great round, congrats. Smart golf off the tee, a lot of guys would find it boring but I love a good iron off the tee in the fairway. I live across the pond in Windsor Ontario. A few friends and I have some orders to pick up at club champion in Royal Oak. I notice you’ve played PCC, Rackham, Farmington Hills Golf Club. While we’re over we figure we might as well play one of them. Which one do you recommend of the three?
Appreciate it, man! PCC almost forces you to lay up with a 5 wood or 4 iron on some holes with the way the doglegs move as well as with how tight it is. Out of the three you listed, I’d go Farmington Hills Golf Club. I may have a little bias there, but it’s a fun test that has some very well maintained greens. For a municipal course, they’re incredible. Those finishing three holes are no joke, either. I’d go there.
This had to be for par! Jkjk was this for birdie?
It actually was for par on the hole. The total score though is what I meant
Are we gonna get an eagle upcoming on the channel?
I know it’s crazy I haven’t made one on video yet.
Congrats.

They sold this course and it’s getting closed
I’ve heard about that. It’s incredibly sad.
Playing with you would be awful.
I appreciate feedback any way I can get it and I understand that some people don’t see eye to eye with me, but dude, this is a bit much. You really think it’s a good idea to tell someone that after they shot one of their best rounds of the year on video? I’ve been making content for this channel for over three years and I don’t get paid a dime for it. I’m not just some guy who does RUclips full time and think that I’m so bunch better than everybody else. I do this because I love it. Golf is what gets me out of bed in the morning. Golf is what helps keep me in shape. A life without golf for me would be a miserable existence. I’m assuming you think that playing with me would be awful because of my high energy and talkative nature. Seems like the two folks I played with in this one were all for it and towards the end I really helped her with her putting and I think I gave her a long term fix. I might have just helped them make the shot at the end of the round that convinces them to come back to the game even when they’re struggling as a beginner. For you to just brush that off and act like there’s something wrong with me is extremely rude and inconsiderate. I hope you’re happy that you ruined someone’s day
I appreciate you being high energy but it a bit too much. I’m assuming the people said it was cool to film while playing with the them but it didn’t look like the male was appropriative of you showing how perfect you hit the ball while he was trying to tee his ball. It’s your channel so post what you want but just saying if playing with people you don’t know maybe be mindful of their comfort level
@@philipchampion3076 That last bit of your explanation makes sense.
great vid bro, killing it
Thank you very much. Glad I played well.
Good stuff Ben. I have been pitching and chipping poorly this year. I would have knocked it off that Shitter on the good pitch you made
Thanks, man. I’ve seen some of your Bandon Dunes course vlogs and what I see with you is that you take the club back quite slow which may result in a slow downswing with it being too big of a swing. That’s why you might have some trouble contacting the ball well. I’m always pitching the best when I’m really thumping that club down to the ground, almost taking a divot sometimes especially in the rough, but I do still follow through about to my waist. But seriously, that big stonewall behind the 16th is deadly. About a 10 foot drop and it’s OB the instant it goes off of it. I’m fortunate to have never been a victim of it.
Congratulations but I’m not surprised.
As you can see by my reaction I was surprised! That was the best putt I’ve hit all year and what a time to do it!
Great video Ben! Keep the content comin! ❤
Thanks, man. This was some of the better golf I’ve played this year but Mike played that last hole beautifully and the pressure was just a little bit too much for me to handle. The putter was the best I’ve ever seen it and I’ve not lost any ground with it. Putting myself in these almost-win toss-up late in the game situations might not be going my way right now, but I’m gaining experience for the next time I get there. That’s huge.
Excellent round. Congratulations!
Thank you, John! It was just one of those rounds where everything seems to go right. Six footer? Draino City every time. Tight driving hole? Roasted down the middle. Forced carry? Made it easily. I love rounds like those where you don’t make mistakes where it’s easy to.
