I play the E Flat Contra Alto Clarinet though high school, since the wasn’t hardly any music for my I just played Tuba music and I was awesome. Is finding music for the Contra Bass clarinet hard to find?
@@taliskadzejs3642 I love contra alto clarinet!! Contrabass clarinet is called for much more often than contra alto.
Would you say its worth it buying the Alpha over something else like a royal global max??
Because I'm saving up to buy a backun model Q but I'm really eyeing the alpha
@@Kepler-re7nx I don’t have experience with any Royal instruments but I have done a bunch of research on both cause I was in the same position, I would say that, yes, the Alpha is more worth it though.
Personal for a starter low c bass clarinet I chose a ridenour lyrique bass clarinet

why that ligature bro. the rovner R3L is so much nicer and its only $30. also why tenor sax reeds, literally just use some vandoren bass clarinet reeds and your tone will be great.

My main instrument is bass clarinet but my last semester of senior year of highschool, I was able to play the schools contra that hasn’t been played in 25plus years . I had so much fun with contra.. now I got a low c bass though.

Put around the same amount of time into playing a real guitar and I'm sure you could play that song for real. You got some coordination, that should translate to guitar pretty well. But it doesnt happen overnight. Then again, I doubt you got that good at the game overnight either! Rock on buddy
That also could go well with trumpet or even clarinet. Most problems that beginners face is not having fast enough fingers but I mean, just look at him.

@@TylansShenanigans maybe eBay? They’re typically in bad condition, mostly needing overhaul. Mine is owned by my school so I do not know really what is best.

idk what yo grade has to do with ur school having a contrabass, but mine does have a contrabass and my band director trusts me enough to let me carry the case of it and its bigger than me, also what makes it your dream instrument?
@@KAKUMEi34 it's just the way it sounds and looks. I've always loved the lower sounding and bigger looking instruments. I played clarinet in regular band and saxophone in jazz band during 6th grade. Then I got my bass clarinet in 7th grade from the school, and now I just got a bari sax in jazz band.
@@MR.pickle6000 I mean if contrabass clarinet is your dream instrument because of being a lower and bigger looking instrument, why wouldn’t the octo-contrabass clarinet be your dream instrument? also I usually don’t like talking to middle schoolers because they dumb ass hell but you seem fun to talk to

@@MR.pickle6000 well since your school doesn’t have a contrabass clarinet I don’t expect them to have this either but, can you ask them if they have a Bassoon that they can give you? I think you would like to play the bassoon as it is like a kind of a step up from bass clarinet, it is bigger and can play way lower(Down to D on the Contra octave but with a little bell extension it can play down to Contra Db) also the Bassoon has a curved tubing but if the tubing was straight all the way through the instrument it would be only 1 feet shorter than the octo-contrabass clarinet(it would be around 8 feet), but either way it is bigger than bass clarinet even with curved tubing
