Some Witches identify Him that way…but most think of Him as the God of Nature and the Sun, Consort of the Goddess and Father of all. Generally, we think of the horns as being indicative of the powers of the mind emerging from our animal natures. We are different from other “religions” in that we are generally animists and pantheists…and don’t consider Deity as separate from ourselves and the natural world.

External energies and Deities may awaken one thing or another inside of you make it more powerful and prominent in your energy field. If you look at nature itself there are very different forces, forces of destruction and forces of rebirth, you can see beauty and also ugliness. So I believe not everything is light, neither in nature neither inside of us 😬 I don't believe in non duality. I mean yes I believe in it but not in this material realm we live in now. @@empressmoon5589 I don’t really fixate on labels the way I once did in my youth and now tend to focus on what actually works for me, regardless of ontology…but I do find it fascinating how others categorize…how do you define “witchcraft” and how do you define “hoodoo”…and what makes lodestone working one or the other in your system/tradition?

@@witchjoseph3492 I define them as two completely different spiritual practices and systems by two completely different groups of practitioners and loadstones have always been apart of hoodoo, and as a former practitioner of witchcraft never heard of loadstones until I became a hoodoo practitioner and I practiced witchcraft from the age of 17 until my late 20s. But u practice however u choose, I was just wondering why so many witches call hoodoo practices witchcraft.

I guess some the aspects of intersectionality between practices and traditions is determined by the traditions and practices we are exposed to in our early trainings/initiations ect…for instance, in many forms of Witchcraft, the lodestone is used to “magnetize” the athame (I think many traditional Witches do this and some of the Wiccan traditions do it as well). Also, in my researches of lodestones, I discovered that they have been historically used by many different cultures at many different times…Greece and China for example. I find it all very interesting.
