    Congratulations to your Ranger! I hope you can repair the details the truck had, actioly, by the age, but the structure of your truck is great! Enjoy it! I have a Ranger 2.3 1997, here in Brasil, that have some details to do, see her on my channel! but this truck is really good, fun and security.

    I've owned three rangers over the years. Had an 84 as my first at 16, a 93 which I totaled, and currently a 96 Mazda (which counts because it's based on a ranger). They're definitely cheap to keep on the road especially if you can fix the problems yourself. And parts are everywhere for these things. Had my 96 for over 10 years now. I just love the simplicity of it which you can't find in a brand new truck now. There are two common fails i seen with these trucks. I had to replace leaf spring holders on my 84 and my 96 due to rust. I do live in Pa which is part of the rust belt. Also had to replace the fuel filler neck in both my 93 and 96. If you keep that truck a long time, that WILL fail. Aside from that, no real complaints about them.

    Oh yeah baby. I bought my 94 b2300 2.3 5spd in 2016 with 160k miles for $600. Has about 275k now. I would absolutely beat that truck so hard the first couple years I’ve owned it. At least 5 burnouts a day, clutch kick skids, off-roading. Blew a headgasket,blew my driveshaft off, then blew my 5spd trans. Thing only has 130ft lbs of torque, but after enough time of beating on it at such a constant rate Something will eventually give. Some people still make fun of me here and there for driving it. Coworkers and some friends and such. Old 💩 box. Idc. I love it because it’s fun and I know I can always fix it. Blew the timing belt last week, replaced the belt a year prior. I assume I just bought a poorly made belt. Took me 2hrs to change. Awesome truck.

    The Ford Ranger, especially a four cylinder with a 5-speed is my favorite pickup truck. And in my opinion it is the second best pickup truck on the market. The reason it's my favorite and not the Toyota Tacoma which is the best, is because the Ford Ranger is 90% of the goodness of the Toyota Tacoma without the Toyota tax. Considering that 90% of the goodness of a Toyota Tacoma for less than half the price still means you're getting an awesome truck, the ranger especially the four cylinder 5-speed one is a very good deal. As long as it doesn't have the single overhead cam 4.0 it is a good truck, but the four cylinder is still the best.

    I also have a '94 Ranger 2.3, 2wd regular cab. It has 222,000 miles on it. I bought er' in 2017 for $500 and have done the following: New fuel pump, alternator, water pump, leaf spring, tires, and catalytic converter/tail pipe. I figure I have about $1500 into it, with the tires being the most expensive part. Well worth every penny considering how some people pay upwards of that price for just one month of truck payments.

  • @pme166
    @pme166 5 месяцев назад

    As another Ranger owner, they are good work trucks. Just start tackling the issues and fix it up. I saw cosmetic issues other than the front end collapse but that could be as easy as new coil over springs or twisting the keys a bit like in my 4x4 version. Yes everyone ridicules the POS Rangers but you treat them nice and they are good vehicles. My AC by the way will freeze your axx out of the truck and I live in south Texas were hundreds and humid is not uncommon. The AC's are way oversized for the small cab so get a new compressor onto it and check you lines for leaks. Parts are still available so don't worry too much and start fixing that beast up. Its also a good car to learn to turn a wrench on it. Enjoy it.

    I personally think if it's not a V8 it shouldn't be loud. 4 Cylinder and v6 should have more musical sound like a quality sound, intentional. A V8 (usually) sounds good no matter what. V6 quality resonator and quality mufflers and high flow cats give off a way superior sound imo. The straight pipe to me is for cheap broke high schoolers first cars. We've all been there.

    • @owenmiller378
      @owenmiller378 5 месяцев назад

      yea no shot i’m affording a whole exhaust system. there’s only a couple v6s that sound really great, vq def isn’t one. now inline 6s on the other hand.. and also, wtf do u drive??

    • @motavice3499
      @motavice3499 5 месяцев назад

      @@owenmiller378 it can actually be done affordable and still quality. On my 07 acura tl type s I got v3 j pipe, borla resonator, and 2 spelab N1 rear mufflers for dual exit. I also drive a 260z. I'm not taking a shot at you, if you enjoy it that's all that matters. This is the internet though and I was just saying what I thought. I have heard some badass VQ sounds and personally was undecided between my TLS and a G37. My whole exhaust settup for the TLS was $1200. The j pipe was the most at $650 but also 15 hp for an NA. The original design of the j pipe was STUPID lol. I'm just saying maybe add high flow cats and a quality resonator for under $500 and your sht will sound mean.

    I have a 1994 Ford Ranger 2.3 L. It'll run forever. This engine lasts if you change the oil regularly and take care of it. 1. You need to change the belt. 2. You need new tires, if even you buy new used tires. That will help with the front end. Bad tires will wear it out fast. 3. The crank windows are a plus, less to break less to short out. 4. The 5 speed transmission is a plus. It'll last forever unlike an automatic. Its also a great anti theft deterrent for most car thieves. 5. You can live without AC. I'm 63 and I do and you'll be fine. Builds character ;) Good job on this truck what you've done so far and on getting it, learning to drive the stick and if you take care of this truck it'll be around 10 years from now still running.
