Listen to Barry Goudreau and the Engine Room. Not fair to compare anyone to Brad Delp. Brian Maes is a good singer with the Engine Room songs. Just very different.

One of my favorite memories of working with these guys is when we did a track for "Boston does the Stones" where I convinced my dear friend [Mr.] Jimmy Miller to produce the track. They did "Live With Me"... this was shortly after "Suicide At the Wishing Well", before their national release. Jimmy let them try to figure out how to play it best [while I was rolling a 2 track reel in case some great idea might have been overlooked that Jimmy may have identified]. When Jimmy heard the band hit the "right" arrangement / version of the song he had me call them into the control room. He commenced to telling a Rolling Stones recording story that was totally unrelated to the track at hand. Everyone was having fun - the story made everyone loose and laughing. The band then went back in to "rehearse it a couple more times" -- as instructed, I "hit red" [recorded it], and it was a magnificent take... honored the song, but was UNIQUELY the "Swinging Steaks". This being some of my drug years and time when I was a bit pissed off at them for kinda throwing me under the bus [business wise, I digress -- and am no longer bitter!!] the master got lost [meaning I'm pretty sure I sold the reel of tape to cop dope], the "after session rough mix" was what ended up on the album. Wish I had the opportunity to have mixed it properly... but some things just ain't meant to be.

Hard to believe that "what's her name" dumped this guy some years back.

Love the rockman , sound, I think I have to thank you for that, I had The x100 headphone amp plugged in my stereo, also purchase an XPR multiprocessor, The gentleman that I bought that from, , one of which was the XPRA, he wouldn't sell that, can't blame him. My XPR was nice but very loud background , noise, and hiss. Either or they sounded great I bought a martial DSL in my fender amplifier together with rockman multiprocessor, All my rush sounds, we're great, but never figure it out how to boost the multiprocessor itself even if levels were all the way up. Anyways I wish Boston would get back together All you members were fantastic, Don't let this band go away.

MY HS BAND PLAYED THIS EVERY GIG!!!

You can tell John's not been playing for awhile, he flubbed that second intro into the song because of doing that "drum roll" thing lol, then he was in the wrong key with his slide guitar when he started playing, he even made a face and was laughing so he knew it, but he corrected himself lol!!

Just awesome... What's more to say! . But do you have a question for everybody out there,., I heard the , The original rockman sound , was berry, goudreu's. Amplifier with a bad transistor. , and Tom just built on that format , to perfect the rockman, sound. , Don't get me wrong people , this has been my favorite band for 40 years, I play and rely on his chords music for a lot of things, Brad delp, can't be replaced, like every other members. I have a Rockland XPR 100 & had got XPR 100, , but unfortunately $,.. had to sell for bill's, but PS we trained rockman and the XPR or put together on two amplifier Princeton quartzes and Bose speakers and Marshall stack, and playing rush, like spirit of radio , sounds great like the original, but definitely has some noise, Guess that's why I made the XPRA hahaha, but any comments I'd appreciate it I've got nothing else to do. Right now I use a PRS custom 24 anniversary, one fender Princeton chorus and I miss the other one, nothing like that in stereo haha.

After the Cocker cover, this song should have been retired.

I was just listening to them yesterday. I may be stuck in the past, but I prefer music like this to the stuff that's played today.
